Cypriots that I had met looked no different than other Greeks from Greece. They also spoke Greek and had the same culture.
They are not closer to Levantines as some people like to claim here even though geographically their island is closer to West Asia (Levant & Turkey).

I know that it's either italian or aegean like ancestry the question has always been about which source exactly and at which period the admixture event occured but the south european ancestry isn't questioned now it's an established fact + AJs in some cases also have additional east/central european ancestry

Bit of a bun fight on above, who is European and who is not. Europe is an artificial division of Eurasia. A lot of the discussion is based on bigotry, and the acceptance that certain ethnic groups in Europe are true blue Europeans, and others not, on certain desired phenotypes. You all know that Europeans, Middle Easterners and West Asians form a continuity, and that existed before East Eurasian, and sub Saharan admixture. You are arguing about who is WHITE, not who is European. White and European meant the same thing once, but after the redefinition in Colonial countries due to the enslavement of other ethnic groups, it has altered. It is as silly as when I was a boy, an older man told me that real White women have pink nipples instead of brown.
I don't accept the distance provide by the Vahaduo calculator as being the true distance, the true genetic difference is the Fixation Index, that is used by the professionals in genetics.

europe is man made ..... which doesnt mean that it has no meaning / sense ....i dont want to say europe doesnt exist because there are many things that europeans have in common . but it is still a man made concept and should often NOT be used for anthropological / racial debates . you say Georgians and Armenians are part of Europe . many will disagree with you . and that is one of many examples of the "muh white = european" or "europeans form a cluster" etc. phrases often used (or abused) in forums doesnt make sense

if Cypriots are European then so are northwest asians . if they are not then greek islanders are also non european and if greek islanders are not europeans then greek mainlanders are also hardly so

and how are Georgians not european despite many of them " looking European" and being a christian nation and having had historical ties to the byzantines and having been part of UDSSR etc. ? because they dont "muh cluster in yuropz " ? there is no "european cluster" .....as i already showed a portugese for example is at the same distance to a russian as an armenian is to a bulgarian . that "plot / cluster" is all over the place on basically all pca / calcs .

keep in mind that there are some established Levantine minorities that have been living in Cypress for hundreds of years like Maronites and other Levantines, but like I said before I have a lot of Greek friends from mainland Greece and also had some Cypriot ones.
Regardless what the these genetic maps say It is almost impossible to tell them apart unless you ask them. Even the Greek friends from mainland Greece couldn't tell the Cypriot ones from their own mainlanders.

It's a good idea to find/develop a good bronze age/iron age model to run European Mediterranean populations and see how large their non-European ancestry is. Maltese are N1 on my list. Comparing them to Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews is entertaining.
