Son Gual has once again been hailed as Mallorca’s number one golf destination – this time by popular website top100golfcourses.co.uk.

The website has recently launched its new continental Europe rankings and Son Gual was listed as 8th in the nation and the top venue in Mallorca – an exact replication of its performance in Golf World‘s benchmark Top 100 Courses in Continental Europe 2014 rankings.

Son Gual, the only Mallorcan course to feature in the website’s top 100, leapt a staggering 36 places – the second-highest jump – to cement its place as the holiday island’s premier golf destination. It was described as a “must play” and “quite breathtaking”.

And currently available golf-break packages from the four-star Lindner Golf & Wellness Resort Portals Nous, close to the marina at Puerto Portals, are designed to allow visitors to experience for themselves just why the course is so highly regarded.

The €30m Son Gual golf course opened only in 2007 and was ranked 53 in the previous rankings of 2011. However, the judges at Golf World clearly expect the Thomas Himmel-designed track to continue its upward momentum. The magazine described the venue as “one of the finest inland courses on the continent”, and stated: “… there is every chance Son Gual will rise even higher in future lists as it continues to mature into the Mallorcan landscape.”

It continued: “Son Gual is what a modern championship course should be, and, taken together with its fabulous clubhouse and practice facilities, is every inch a serious Tour venue … it stands comparison with our own high-octane parklands The Grove and The Belfry – not least in the conditioning stakes, which is no mean achievement.”

Son Gual features large lakes, 66 bunkers, 800 olive trees – some more than a thousand years old – wild flowers in the rough areas and vineyards in several areas around the course. Just four years after Golf Son Gual opened, it was recognised by Golf World magazine as the number one on the island.

In May 2009 it hosted the Mallorca Senior Open and received gushing praise from a number of participants – former Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam even compared the greens to those at Augusta National.

The 1991 Masters winner said: “It’s a bit like Augusta. There are a lot of slopes on the greens. You’ve got to get the ball on the right side of the hole – if you don’t you’ll be struggling. Miss it on the wrong side and you’re dead.”

A three-night, half-board break in a ‘classic’ double room at Lindner Golf & Wellness Resort Portals Nous – including three Son Gual green-fees per person – starts at just €440 per person, while a five-night package, with four rounds of golf each, costs €650pp. These deals are bookable upon request and are available until February 26, 2014.

Lindner Golf & Wellness Resort Portals Nous sits in a scenic and sheltered bay on the west coast and has recently completed a €6m makeover, which has added to its already very African feel.

Golfers can ease their aches, pains and strains in the outdoor pool, replete with massaging water jets and powerful showers to work on sore necks and shoulders. It also includes a spa, indoor pool (with Jacuzzi), and two restaurants offering a mouth-watering selection of international and Mediterranean cuisine.

Club de Golf Alcanada, Alcudia.

The Alcanada golf course is Mallorca's flagship. Hardly any other course can hold a candle to the 18-hole course in the north of the island when it comes to spectacular views of the sea. An exceptional service as well as the state of maintenance of the course make Golf Alcanada the favorite of every golfer and for many the most beautiful course in Europe. The fairways are long and fair, the greens fast. A whole 6,499 meters of golfing pleasure are embedded in a nature reserve without lakes. https://www.neptunus-international.com/en/golf-courses-mallorca/

Balearic tourism keeps on growing - 17 million mark set to be passed this year

A record number that will just add to the debate about tourist saturation

All the islands have experienced tourist growth this year

Forecasts for the final quarter of 2023 indicate that the total number of tourists in the Balearics this year will pass the 17 million mark. If so, 2023 will shatter the current record year - 2018 with 16,583,654 for the most tourists ever in the Balearic islands.

Hotel and holiday rentals sources anticipate numbers similar to those for the October-December period last year. There were exceptional numbers of visitors in October and November, aided by some very good weather.
The figures for August, which will be released this week, will provide a further indication as to the annual total. For January to July, the cumulative total was 10.13 million, well above 2018 (9.40 million), 2019 (9.52 million) and 2022 (9.29 million). If that trend is shown to have continued, then surpassing 17 million for the year will look almost inevitable.

Three million tourists in a month for the first time ever in the Balearics

In February this year, the then tourism minister, Iago Negueruela, said that 2022's figures (16.5 million) should not be exceeded and that "it will be necessary to analyse how to reduce the arrival of visitors to the Balearic Islands".
Against a background of concerns about tourist overcrowding, there is now a new government which dismisses talk of a decrease in numbers.

But these concerns will only be heightened if, as seems likely, the 17 million barrier is breached.

Paris kept its status as the most visited city in the world, followed by Rome and Berlin. On a regional level however, Mallorca topped the ranks, followed by Paris.

The Mallorcan town of Sóller has been awarded the title of “Best European Destinations 2023”. The renowned tourism portal European Best Destinations has awarded it this recognition. Sóller appears on the list of the 20 most voted destinations, out of more than 400

The European Best Destinations portal has ranked Sóller among the best hidden gems in Europe and the best honeymoon destinations in Europe. As well as the best cycling and train destinations in Europe
. They highlight the little train that climbs to the top of the mountain as charming and authentic and for the whole family.
In addition, Sóller is also among the best places in Europe to retire.

For this portal and its voters, it is the most beautiful village on the island of Mallorca. “Surrounded by mountains, it is quiet, relaxing and perfect for a family holiday. Although its location is isolated, Sóller is well communicated with Palma de Mallorca, 30 minutes from the airport, by many tram and bus lines”, they point out.

The municipality, located on the northwest coast of the Serra de Tramuntana region, is the ideal destination for nature lovers, hikers, foodies, families, beach lovers, instagrammers and sun seekers.

Mallorca, a fashionable destination

The island is regularly chosen as one of the favourite destinations for travellers from all over the world. Already in 2022 Mallorca was distinguished by Tripadvisor as the world’s most fashionable destination. It took first place in the Travelers’ Choice in the category ‘Destinations’. This recognition is based on the opinion of users on this website over the last 12 months.

In the present day, an extraordinary event unfolds, shaking the very foundations of humanity's existence. Enki, a legendary being of immense knowledge and wisdom, long thought to be lost to the annals of history, emerges once again to interact with the world. This enigmatic figure, whose origins are shrouded in mystery, captivates the imagination of people across the world. #enki #anunnaki #sumerianorigins Enki's return comes with a resounding proclamation: "Enki has spoken." His voice resonates through the airwaves, reaching the minds of every human being simultaneously. This extraordinary communication baffles scientists and theologians alike. Many believe it to be a hoax, an elaborate prank executed by advanced technology. But as days pass, the truth of Enki's presence becomes undeniable. As the days turn into weeks, Enki begins to reveal the depth of his knowledge and the extent of his abilities. He possesses an unparalleled understanding of science, technology, and the nature of the universe. Enki's mere presence sparks a wave of innovation, with scientists and engineers racing to decipher and implement the knowledge he offers. Enki's endeavors are not solely focused on advancing humanity's scientific understanding. He seeks to awaken a dormant consciousness within humanity—a deeper connection to the universe and to each other. Through his teachings, he encourages people to question their beliefs, to explore the nature of existence beyond the limitations imposed by society and tradition. However, Enki's return is not without struggles. Many people fear the radical change his presence might bring. Some religious leaders denounce him as a false prophet, claiming his teachings will lead humanity astray. Political powers question his motives, fearing the disruption he might cause to established systems and hierarchies. Enki, undeterred by the resistance, presses on with his mission. He understands the delicate balance between revealing knowledge and respecting humanity's capacity for growth. He aims to guide, rather than impose, understanding that true wisdom requires individuals to discover their own paths. Despite his benevolent intentions, Enki faces challenges in reconciling his ideals with the flaws of human nature. He witnesses the misuse and exploitation of his teachings by those driven by greed and power. This realization causes him great anguish, leading him to retreat at times, questioning his role in humanity's development. Yet, amidst the struggles, Enki persists, inspired by the countless individuals who embrace his message and seek a better future. He dedicates himself to nurturing a global community that transcends borders, fostering cooperation and mutual understanding. Enki's influence reshapes the world as new technologies emerge, redefining the way people interact and live. Energy sources once deemed impossible become commonplace, extending humanity's reach beyond the confines of Earth.
