Greenland was connected to the land of the Sami; the original Clavus designation of the latter, Wildhlappelandi, developed into other forms including Pillapelanth. Scandinavian Peninsula joined the mainland to the south of Wildhlappelandi, in an area designated with another Sami-related name, Findhlappi / Finlappelanth (in the north), as well as the name of Findlandi and its variants (in the south).https://www.researchgate.net/publication/320600851_A_Russian_discovery_in_the_Arctic_ocean_at_the_time_of_Columbus
