Nuralagus is an extinct genus of leporid (the family of rabbits and hares), with a single species, Nuralagus rex, discovered in 2011. It lived on Menorca, one of the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean during the Pliocene epoch. It is the largest known lagomorph to have ever existed, with an estimated weight of 8–12 kilograms (18–26 lb), nearly double the weight of the average Flemish Giant rabbit. It likely went extinct at the Pliocene-Pleistocene transition when Mallorca and Menorca were united as one island, letting the mammalian fauna of Mallorca, including the goat-like ungulate Myotragus, colonize Nuralagus's habitat.

So far, all of the fossils have been found in fissure fill deposits in the northwest of Menorca, dating to sometime in the Pliocene. The material was originally preliminarily discovered by Pons-Moya et al. in 1981, who referred it to cf. Alilepus. The genus and species Nuralagus rex were described in 2011 in a full description of the material, which included the front half of a skull, as well as numerous isolated postcranial bones corresponding to most of the skeleton.[1]

With a height of half a meter and an estimated weight of 12 kg (26 lb),[1][2] or 8 kg (18 lb)the species is the largest known lagomorph, being ten times the weight of the average wild European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and around double the weight of the average Flemish Giant rabbit. Its size was likely due to island gigantism. It had a comparatively small skull relative to its body size and small sensory receptors, including orbits and tympanic bullae, suggesting reduced senses of hearing and eyesight. Nuralagus rex had a short and stiff spine which resulted in low mobility and an inability to jump like other leporids.[4] Bone histology analysis suggests that the species was sexually dimorphic, with females being larger than males. The growth lines within the bones suggest that the large body size was the result of growing over a longer period of time, rather than the result of increasing growth rates. The age of sexual maturity was estimated at 3.6 years for females and 6.2 years for males, considerably higher than would be expected solely based on bodymass.

Evolution​

Nuralagus rex likely entered what is now Menorca during the Messinian Salinity Crisis 5.96-5.3 million years ago. During this event, the Strait of Gibraltar closed, leading to the desiccation of the Mediterranean Sea, resulting in the connection of the islands to the Iberian Peninsula, letting Nuralagus's ancestor colonize the area. The subsequent Zanclean flood 5.3 million years ago then returned the Mediterranean to its original sea levels, isolating Nuralagus's ancestor on Menorca.[6] There is a dearth of knowledge about the evolutionary history of Nuralagus rex in relation to other lagomorphs. However, similarities between the dental morphology of Nuralagus and Eurasian members of the extinct genus Alilepus have led to speculation that Alilepus is closely related to and, possibly, the ancestor of Nuralagus.[1][7] The only other mammal native to Menorca during the Pliocene was the extinct giant dormouse species Muscardinus cyclopeus, which belongs to the same genus as the living hazel dormouse, with a herpetofauna including the giant tortoise Solitudo gymnesica, snakes, amphisbaenian, lacertid and gekkonid lizards, and alytid frogs.[8] Nuralagus probably became extinct around the end of the Pliocene and the beginning of the Pleistocene, corresponding with the colonisation of Menorca by the mammals that lived on Mallorca (comprising the goat-antelope Myotragus, the shrew Nesiotites and the dormouse Hypnomys) due to the islands being connected during low sea level episodes as a result of Quaternary glaciation.

Nuralagus's unique traits were most likely the product of an insular environment containing no natural predators. The books of Chilam Balam explicitly tie the December 2012 prophecy to the immediately previous 4 Ahaw k’atun in the middle of the 18th century. Many scholars believe this prophetic text refers primarily to the arrival of a historical figure known as K’uk’ulkan in the Yucatan in a far earlier 4 Ahaw k’atun that ended in November of 987 CE.

This is the 4th in a series of articles that brings together the work of two highly regarded authors on things Mayan, John Major Jenkins and Carl Calleman, to form a single theory that explains the Mayan prophecies about 2012 and how they describe the evolution of consciousness of the Earth. If you’ve landed on this page it may not make too much sense if read out of step; this page is a better starting point.
The Tortuguero Monument predicts the end of the long count on 4 Ajaw, 3 K’ank’in, 13.0.0.0.0 – 21 December 2012. It also predicts the descent of Bolon Yokte K’uh. The link in the previous sentence gives a thorough summary of the information available on this God, so I won’t go into too much detail about him. My simplistic view of things is that each underworld has a God associated with it. When all nine underworlds end together, Bolon Yokte K’uh, who is a combination of all the Gods comes down. Though I’m not really sure what the Mayan’s were trying to get at, the implication is that the power of Bolon Yokte K’uh is much greater than individual Gods, so the potential changes he brings are significant.
As you will have read from the link, the Tortuguero Monument has significant damage and is part of a larger piece that hasn’t been identified, so we know when and who, but we don’t know where or what.
So what will Bolon Yokte K’uh do for Us ?
It is reasonable to assume that Bolon Yokte K’uh (I will refer to him as BY from now on in this article) is coming to complete a period of evolution for us; to put the icing on the cake as it were. His timing is impeccable and occurs when the winter solstice sun rises in conjunction with the galactic centre, so potentially this event could be a vehicle for him to descend, a sign that he has arrived or an alignment that makes available the energy for us to take an evolutionary step (through him or enabled by him). It might just be a cool event, a bit of a light show and a time to celebrate.
Bolon Yokte K’uh and the Nine Underworlds
The linkage between the arrival of BY and the Galactic Alignment was pretty clear as they happened on the same day (4 Ajaw 3 K’ank’in – 21 December 2012). What puzzled me for a while was how the coming of BY and the galactic alignment was linked, if at all, to the nine underworlds which ends 160 days before on 13 Ajaw 3 Xul – 14 July 2012.
Given the maths that pervades the Mayan Calendars and prophecies, 160 isn’t a number that fits well. The number 156 (13*12) or 169 (13*13) would have a lot more significance as it would fit the creation cycle that is emulated by the Tzolkin and the Nine Underworlds.
So I sat down and ran through everything in detail with my spirit friend Mo. After confirming that the Nine Underworlds ended on 14 July 2012, that BY descended on 21 December 2012 and that there were 160 days in between for ‘stuff to happen’ I asked how long BY would stay for and got the answer 9 days !
Things slipped into place then as the period between the Nine Underworlds ending and BY leaving is 169 days or 13 periods of 13 days – another creation cycle. After doing a little more investigating I confirmed that this 169 day is the period that prepares for and delivers whatever big shift we are going to get as a result of the alignment and BY descending. The 169 day period runs the usual course of 7 days and 6 nights, each day and night lasting 13 days. The Seventh day of this alignment cycle begins on 18 December 2012 and completes the cycle. For days into this period, the Galactic Alignment occurs, BY descends, some cool stuff happens and then BY leave on 30 December 2012.

Who are the Bolon Yokte Ku – The Nine? They have variously been translated as the God of Nine Strides, the Nine-Footed God, Jaguar-Foot-Tree and Nine-Dog-Tree. They were seen as living in the Underworld and were generally described as god(s) of conflict, warfare, and are hence linked with dangerous transition times, social unrest, eclipses, and natural disasters like earthquakes. It is said that at the end of a baktun, they would abandon their underworld realm and rise to the Earth’s surface, where they would do battle with the 13 deities of Heaven.
To further identify what the Nine Support Gods are supposed to be, we need to consult other sources, in this case, anthropological ones. Such evidence makes it clear that the Nine Gods appeared during ceremonies that were held at the end of each baktun, the last of which occurred in 1618 AD.
The ceremonial of the baktun is described in chapter 29 of the The Book of Chilam Balam de Chumayel, a Mayan chronicle. It provides a detailed description of the ceremonies that were performed in Merida in 1618 AD, at the end of 12.0.0.0.0.
In total, there are twenty acts, each representing one of the twenty katuns that make up a baktun-cycle.

Many people have in recent years come to know about the existence of the Mayan calendar and its purported end date, but surprisingly, not so many have assimilated what the ancient inscriptions are saying about it. In fact, there is only one known ancient inscription that mentions the calendar end — Monument 6 from Tortuguero*** describes what will happen when the calendar comes to an end. The current reading of this ancient inscription by professional Mayanists is that we will then “witness the display of Bolon Yokte Ku in his full costume and regalia.” So whatever else you might have heard associated with the end of the Mayan calendar such as a pole shift, the end of the world, a galactic alignment, solar flares, radiation from the center of the galaxy, etc., actually lacks foundation in any ancient Mayan text.
Yet what obviously does have a background in an ancient Mayan inscription is Bolon, the number nine. Arqueólogos profundizaron sobre la fecha maya "21 o 23" de diciembre 2012, conocida como "fin del mundo" y confirmaron que las inscripciones dicen de preparase para el fin de una era y la llegada del Dios Bolon Yokte - de la creación/destrucción-, informó ayer el Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) de México, mientras se realiza en Palenque la anunciada mesa redonda de 60 especialistas y arqueólogos de todo el mundo.

La mesa redonda dio a conocer ayer que según los glifos mayas, el Dios Bolon Yokte presidiría el nacimiento de una nueva era, la que debería comenzar el 21 de diciembre de 2012 y supervisaría el fin de la era actual.

INAH informó que los petroglifos referidos como "fin del mundo" describen la fecha 21 de diciembre 2012 como tal, sin embargo, 6 días atrás señalaron que la misma correspondería al 23 de diciembre.

Los especialistas Sven Gronemeyer y Barbara Macleod de la Universidad de La Trobe (Australia), dieron su interpretación sobre las inscripciones del Monumento 6 de Tortuguero en el estado sureño de Tabasco. Ambos sostienen que el 21 de diciembre será el regreso del Dios Bolon Yokte, al cual se vincula con la creación y con la guerra en las escrituras mayas.


Según la explicación dada a conocer durante la VII Mesa Redonda de Palenque en Chiapas, organizada por el Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH-Conaculta) y que se efectuará hasta el próximo viernes, Bolon Yokte participó en el comienzo de la era actual, que se inició el 13 de agosto del año 3.114

Según los especialistas, el mensaje esculpido en el siglo VII dice:

"Preparar el terreno para el retorno del dios Bolon Yokte, y que el Bahlam Ajaw sea el anfitrión de su investidura".

Para los arqueólogos, el gobernante Bahlam Ajaw (612-679 ) sería participante en el evento final de la actual era.


En los registros de los investigadores Eberl, Markus, y Christian Prager en el año 2005 "K'uh B'olon Yokte o "Bolon Yokte" significaría en Maya el Dios de la guerra, del conflicto, y del inframundo. relacionado con la creación y destrucción.

Gronemeyer señala que una de las cosas más interesantes es que este hecho tiene que ver con la propia historia de la antigua ciudad maya de Tortuguero.

En el Monumento 6 aparece citado el gobernante Bahlam Ajaw (612-679 ), de modo que “la mención del evento futuro de la terminación del décimo tercer bak’tun (baktun), sitúa a dicho señor en el evento, conectando el inicio de la era en curso (4 Ajaw 8 Kumk’u), con su reflejo en el futuro”.

Los jeroglíficos de la estela señalan la culminación de 13 baktunes, los ciclos con que los mayas medían el tiempo. Cada bak’tun estaba compuesto por 400 años.

"La medición del tiempo de los mayas era muy compleja, hacían referencias a eventos en el futuro y en el pasado, hay fechas que se proyectan a cientos, miles de años en el futuro", señala Liendo.


“La aritmética del calendario maya demuestra que la terminación del décimo tercer Bak’tun es el fin de un período y la transición a un ciclo nuevo, aunque esa fecha está cargada con un valor simbólico, como la reflexión sobre el día de la creación”, sostiene Gronemeyer.

"Es muy peculiar que el pensamiento del eterno retorno, que impactó a culturas ancestrales, ahora cobra fuerza y no sólo hay una vertiente catastrófica, sino que también hay otra que pronostica el despertar de la conciencia y el renacimiento", señala la investigadora de los Mayas Laura Castellanos.

“Es muy peculiar que el pensamiento del eterno retorno, que impactó a culturas ancestrales, ahora cobra fuerza y no sólo hay una vertiente catastrófica, sino que también hay otra que pronostica el despertar de la conciencia y el renacimiento”, dijo la investigadora de los Maya, Laura Castellanos, durante la VII Mesa Redonda de Palenque, cuyo tema principal fue “El Dios Bolon Yotke”, y que fuera convocada el 30 de Noviembre del 2011, en Chiapas, por el Instituto de Antropología e Historia de México, INAH. En ella participaron 60 expertos y arqueólogos de todo el mundo, previo a la fecha anunciada por los Maya.


Allí se reiteró que la única referencia comprobable que dejaron los Maya específicamente sobre el 21 de Diciembre del 2012, se encontró en una estela, del Monumento 6, del sitio arqueológico de “Tortuguero”, en el estado sureño de Tabasco, México.
La enigmática inscripción está cortada porque a la estela le hace falta un pedazo, ya que fue encontrada cuando se construía una carretera sobre el sitio y la rompieron en tres fragmentos. El Fragmento 1 se encuentra en el Museo de Antropología e Historia “Carlos Pellicer Cámara”, ubicado Villa Hermosa, capital del estado de Tabasco; el Fragmento 2 en el Museo de New York y el Fragmento 3, en manos de un coleccionista privado. En el ala derecha del Fragmento 1 se encuentran los glifos que muchos convirtieron en un anuncio del Apocalípsis y que según expertos que lo han descifrado dice:
“El Treceavo Baktun finalizará en el 4 Ahau 3 Kankin (la fecha en el Calendario Sagrado Maya que indica exactamente, el 21 de Diciembre de 1012). …¿?(un evento indescifrable) Sucederá. Será el descenso …¿? (indescifrable) de Bolon Yokte, para el…¿? (un lugar indescifrable)”



En términos del Tzolkin, el Calendario Sagrado de los Maya (heredado en gran parte de la cultura que les antecedió, Los Olmeca cuyo último período floreció en la Cordillera Apaneca-Ilamatepec, en El Salvador), esta fecha hace referencia a la culminación de un Ciclo de 13 Baktunes. Cada Baktun es un ciclo que equivale a 144,000 días de nuestro calendario Gregoriano, o sea, 400 años aproximadamente. Si multiplicamos 144,000 por 13 nos dará, 1,872,000 días Gregorianos, que equivalen a 5, 125 años.


La enigmática inscripción comenzó a navegar por las redes


Ahora viene lo fascinante de este dios Bolon:
Si damos reversa al tiempo, y al año 2012, le restamos esos 5,125 años, nos lleva hasta la fecha, 11 de agosto de 3,114. Esta es la fecha exacta en que los Maya establecieron el inicio de su Cuenta Larga, la era actual, la cuenta sagrada, la que marca un enorme ciclo dentro del cual se mueven otra cantidad de ciclos.
Y el dios que estuvo en el principio de esta cuenta, según las referencias de los glifos Maya, ¡fue el dios Bolon! El “Señor de la Luz”, el de la Creación y la Destrucción, del Inframundo y del Cosmos. En lengua Maya, corresponde al número “9”, porque significa también las “Nueve Generaciones”
El dios Bolon corresponde “Hurakán, El Corazón del Cielo”, la máxima deidad Maya mencionada en el Popol Vuh, el “Libro del Pueblo”, que recoge la historia de la creación del mundo, según ellos.

Bolon, entonces, es una deidad contradictoria como la mayoría de los dioses pre-colombinos. Es el dios del Inframundo, del infierno que en el Popol Vuh le llaman Xibalbá, en donde reina la muerte, pero al mismo tiempo es el dios del cielo, el “Arbol de la Vida”. Increíble, que para los Maya, éste haya sido la deidad presente en inicio de los ciclos y la creación de la presente era. Nada del “fin del mundo”.


Las aves, siempre tuvieron el significado de lo celestial, “lo de arriba”, para las culturas pre-Colombinas.

Yo me topé con este “concepto de Dios” de los Maya hace unos cuatro años, y me puse a escarbar un poco más para entender mejor su personalidad y significado. Y esto lo encontré en la mágica concepción que los Maya y muchas otras cosmogonías antiguas en el mundo, tienen con las ESPIRALES. Allí fue donde comencé a entender a Bolon y caí en una conclusión que por mágica no deja de ser un fenómeno de nuestro universo:
¡El dios Bolon se refiere al “Big Bang”!



Muchas culturas antiguas, tuvieron una fascinación con las espirales, y notaron que en toda la naturaleza están reproducidas, aún en seres tan simples como los caracoles. Pero lo que más les intrigó, es que observaron que nuestra galaxia era una espiral. Que todos los ciclos se suceden iguales pero distintos, es una dialéctica cósmica. Y su afinada lógica, producto de generaciones de observadores de estrellas (Star-gazer) en sus culturas, les llevó a preguntarse a dónde comienza una espiral, y concluyeron que las espirales que ellos observaban en el firmamento llevaban a un Principio en donde se originaron todas las energías y todos los ciclos.


El origen mismo del universo, lo llamaron “El Corazón del Cielo” y la deidad que rige sobre ella y sus ciclos es Bolon Yokte. Por eso la inscripción en la Estela del Monumento 6, de Tortuguero, expresa que ese dios vendrá del cielo. Es la energía que llega en la confluencia de muchos ciclos cósmicos, que vienen desde el inicio de los siglos y no tiene final, porque es parte de una espiral.


De allí, la máxima deidad de Mayas, Toltecas y Aztecas, “Quetzalcoatl”, a quien también se le relaciona con Bolon, signifique “La Serpiente Emplumada”, porque simboliza la Vïa Láctea, y expresa la dualidad de los máximos dioses pre-colombinos: la Serpiente que significa, la terrenal, el mundo; y las plumas del Pájaro”, que significan lo etéreo, el cielo, el cósmos, la energía creadora del universo. De ahí, la fascinación de las culturas pre-colombinas con las serpientes: porque cuando están enrolladas representan un espiral, y encima de eso, representan la resurrección, la regeneración y el inicio de un nuevo ciclo, cuando la serpiente cambia de pellejo y crece uno nuevo


En El Salvador, el área de la Cordillera Apaneca-Ilamatepec, y el conjunto volcánico que se levanta tras el Lago de Coatepeque, haya tenido un significado tan sagrado para las culturas pre-colombinas que por allí pasaron y adoraron a los dioses que moraban en este mágico paraje.


No es por nada que “Coatepeque” signifique “En el Cerro de la Serpiente”, y que uno de los pueblos sobre la Cordillera Apaneca-Ilamatepec, se llame “Salcoatitán” que es una corrupción de su nombre original: “Quetzalcoatitán” o “El Lugar en donde se adora a Quetzalcoatl”

The Pleiades – Markers of Beltane and Samhain​

“Our writers call these stars Vergiliae, because they rise after spring. They have still greater honour than the others, too, because their rising is a sign of summer, their setting of winter – a thing is not true of the other constellations.”

In the winter sky at Samhain, the Pleiades lie on the shoulder of the bull which is the constellation of Taurus. The bull faces east towards Orion the Hunter, who apparently extends his left hand towards the bull, maybe to offer it something or maybe to club it. Below Orion is Lepus the Hare, and behind him are the two hunting dogs, Canis Major [which has the bright star Sirius as its left eye] and Canis Minor. The Pleiades are a bright star cluster and while they are called often the Seven Sisters usually only six stars can be seen with the naked eye, though in ideal conditions, up to nine or more can be discerned; in 1579, well before the invention of the telescope, the astronomer Moestlin drew eleven Pleiades stars, while Kepler quoted observations of up to fourteen. Actually, they number several hundred. They often appear to have a bluish tinge, which prompted Alfred, Lord Tennyson to describe them as “a swarm of fireflies, tangled in a silver braid.”
Though Samhain is usually just calculated as a cross quarter day between the autumn equinox and winter solstice, the real astronomical marker for Samhain is the position of the Pleiades. During November the stars of the Pleiades rise in the east as the sun sets, reach their highest place in the sky – almost directly overhead – at midnight, and then set at sunrise. They can be seen in the sky for nearly the entire night. At Samhain the sun and the Pleiades are in opposition [on opposite sides of us], which happens only once in each Wheel of the Year. The Pleiades pass though the zenith of the heavens quite often, but only through the zenith at midnight on one day each year.
Conversely, starting about the middle of May [Beltane Old Style] the sun is aligned between the Earth and the stars of the Pleiades i.e., the Sun is conjunct to the Pleiades, and because of this the cluster is not visible at any time of the night; it seems to disappear from the sky for a time. The heliacal rising of the Pleiades [i.e., at dawn] in early June heralds the coming of the summer rain. In Lithuania, the Sietynas [Pleiades] were associated with the start of the rainy days and the Romans even used the word Pleiades as a poetic kenning for thunder and rain showers.
Noting and honouring the position of the Pleiades in the night sky was extremely important for the ancients and continued to be so in many parts of the world well into the twentieth century. They were mentioned by Homer, in both Iliad and Odyssey [about 750 B.C.-720 BC] and Hesiod [about 700 BC]. Ancient Greek astronomers Eudoxus of Knidos (c. 403-350 BC) and Aratos of Phainomena (c. 270 BC) listed them as The Clusterers. There are three references to the Pleiades in the Bible. Many ancient monuments including some British standing stone circles, Polynesian temples, and the pyramids in Egypt and South America were aligned to the rising of the star constellation of the Pleiades at October’s end. In ancient Greece several temples were lined up with the rising and setting of the Seven Sisters, including the Parthenon and Hecatompedon for the rising, and the temple of Bacchus in Athens, Ascelpieion at Epidaurus and Sunium for their setting. In Mexico the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan was orientated to the setting of the Pleiades on the horizon, as were all of the city’s westerly running streets. The Pleiades are also believed to be connected to the Great Pyramid of Giza; at times in history they have been perfectly aligned with the southern entrance and their light could be seen within.
The ancients used the heavens as their visible calendar, and we often underestimate the power and importance of star cycles and star myths in the ancient world. The turning stars, the course of the sun and the waxing and waning of the moon were used to plot the passage of time, in days, months, years and greater cycles still, like the fifty-two year cycle of the Pleiades midnight zenith, called a Great Year [every fifty-two years a celebration in Mesoamerica was timed to when the Pleiades were directly overhead at midnight.].
Many calendar systems, whether sacred or pastoral, utilized the positions of the Pleiades. An ancient pre-Vedic calendar was discovered in Tirvalon naming the month which roughly equates to our November as Kartica, the Pleiades. In the Doric era of ancient Greece, the calendar was also regulated by the position of the Pleiades. It had two prime times, at the beginning of May and the beginning of November, relating to the location of the Pleiades. Between May and November it was safe to sail, and some think the name of the stars means ‘to sail’. Furthermore, Hippocrates divided the year into four seasons based on the Pleiades and their relationship to the Sun and referred to the “Pleiad-month” that begins “on the day of midnight culmination” – about November 17th [near Old Style Samhain].
The Pleiades in Spring heralded the seasons of planting [certain South African tribes called them the ‘hoeing stars’, since their spring appearance in the sky was a signal to plant], and then seasonal decline when they are again significant at the start of winter and linked with festivals of the dead and death. Various cultures held celebrations of the dead when the Pleiades were at their highest point in the midnight sky, from the Mexicans, Aztecs, Hindus, Persians and Japanese, to the ancient Egyptians. Samhain, the Celtic festival of the dead fell at the midpoint between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice, and the Celts knew exactly when that was because it took place when the Pleiades culminated at midnight. Moreover, for some, they signalled not only the Night of the Dead, but the end of the world itself. The energy of this period was considered so powerful and potentially dangerous, that it was the time when major cataclysms were reputed to have happened such as the biblical flood or the sinking of Atlantis.

The Greeks thought that the Pleiades led the eternal dance of the stars around the heavens. The Greek word “Pleiades” is still the name we know the stars by today. It may be derived from either the word for “to sail”, or from pleios meaning “full” or “many”, though Lamprocles said that the Pleiades have the same name as the doves (peleiades). 1 The visible stars are named for the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione: Alcyone, Asterope (a double star, also sometimes called Sterope), Electra, Maia, Merope, Taygeta and Celaeno. According to the myth, the great hunter Orion, overcome by lust, attempted to rape them and Zeus, pitying their plight, turned them into doves and placed them in the heavens. Orion still follows them closely through the night sky, hoping to catch up with them and have his wicked way. The reason that only six of the seven known stars could be seen was attributed to the fact that while six mated with gods, Merope was said to have been the wife of the human Sisyphus. Because of her shame, her star is dim.
The Greeks set their seeding and harvests by the Pleiades. According to Hesiod “When the Pleiades are rising begin your harvest, and your ploughing when they are going to set. Forty nights and days they are hidden and appear again as the year moves round, when first you sharpen your sickle.” 2
The Pleiades were also harbingers of storms and bad weather in the winter, and thus the end of the sailing season. Hesiod again: “… if desire for uncomfortable sea-faring seize you; when the Pleiades plunge into the misty sea [end of October] to escape Orion’s rude strength, then truly gales of all kinds rage,”3 and “but when they spied vessels, the billows swelled with rage, and the hurricane arose against man. Then the Pleiades and the Olenian Goat [the constellation Capra whose rising denoted the beginning of stormy weather] grew dark with storm, and Orion was more wrathful than his wont.”

Natives of the Tonga Islands called the Pleiades Matarii or the Little Eyes. The two seasons of the year were divided by the Pleiades; the first, Matarrii i nia, the Pleiades Above, began when, in the evening, they appeared on the horizon. The other season, Mararrii i raro, the Pleiades Below, began when, at sunset, they ceased to be visible. 5
The Japanese have over sixty terms for the Pleiades, with Subaru being the best known through its recent use as the name of a car. Subaru is generally thought to mean “united” or “getting together”. In some agricultural areas of Japan, the word Suharu (“group tied”) has been used instead of Subaru, referring to grain tied in a bundle. In other farming areas, the stars of Subaru were simply seen as seeds, and their rising with the sun in Spring signalled a time to plant seeds. In some coastal areas, Japanese fishermen viewed them as a kind of fishing net made of stones and bamboo (Sumaru) and used the rising and setting of the bright “net” to determine when to cast their own nets.
To the Adnyamathanha people of South Australia, the stars in the Pleiades were a group of women called the ‘Makara’ married to some of the stars in the constellation of Orion. The Makara were known for their great beauty, with long flowing hair and their bodies covered in icicles. As the Makara first rise in the eastern sky a layer of frost is spread across the ground as they travel, the result of ice falling from their bodies.
In Lithuania, the Pleiades are known as Sietynas which is usually translated as ‘lustre’, though a more archaic version of the name is Sietas meaning ‘sieve’ or Dangaus sietas ‘heavenly sieve’, the stars being the holes of the sieve. It was noted that the stars travelled through the sky during the long nights of November along the similar trajectory as the Sun in summer, hence the saying: “The Sietynas goes along the same road as the Sun in summer’ and ‘…[the Pleiades] go around the Earth at the same time as the Sun; only the Sun goes in the day-time and it moves at night’. People would even tell time by their position, ‘‘When the Sietynas is coming up it is before midnight but when it goes down it is past midnight’ “. About the time of the zenith, they are said to be located ‘in the middle of the sky’ or ‘right above the head’. By the end of April the Sietynas dissolve in the evening-glow and remain invisible throughout the summer nights and signified the start of the spring and the farming season. It was said ‘The Sietas disappears – the cuckoo starts its song’. 6
For the Aztecs the Pleiades were Tianquiztli: ‘Marketplace’ or ‘Gathering Place’, and for the Incas, The Seed Scatterer or Sower. The Aztecs linked the date when the constellation reached its highest point at midnight with the end of the world. They believed that every fifty-two years, when their 365-day sun calendar and 260-day ritual calendar came into alignment, the possibility existed that the heavens would cease to move and demons would fall from the sky. However, if the Pleiades reached their zenith at midnight and then continued harmlessly across the sky, all would be well. The Aztec and Maya not only believed that the world would come to an end on one of these Pleiades overhead-at-midnight points, but were convinced that the world had already been destroyed and recreated four times on just such a night. The end of this fifty-two-year cycle was celebrated with the New Fire ceremony, which involved a human sacrifice. The last recorded New Fire ceremony occurred on November 14th 1507.
The date of the midnight zenith of the Pleiades is subject to precession; both the Pleiadian zenith passage at midnight in November and the sun-Pleiades conjunction in May move forward though the year with precession. The date of the Pleiades’s exact midnight zenith [every fifty-two years] defines an event that always occurs exactly six year later: the exact conjunction of the Pleiades with the sun. In the tropics, the sun can pass through the zenith (the exact centre of the sky) twice every year. Every fifty two or one hundred and four years, the New Fire festival date needed to be adjusted by shifting it one day forward. Precession can be tracked by noticing the changing rise times of stars. In doing so, the astronomers noted that the sun and Pleiades in conjunction were moving closer and closer to the exact zenith of the sky, which was symbolised by the serpent-bird deity Quetzalcoatl, via precession, slowly approaching his throne in the zenith of the heavens. John Major Jenkins points out that this may be represented at the Pyramid of Kukulcan [Quetzalcoatl ]at Chichen Itza.7 At every equinox a shadow-serpent appears and slithers down the stairs of the northern balustrade. In the Yucatec Maya language, the word for a snake’s rattle, tzab, is the same word for the Pleiades. During his accession rites, a Mayan king would have to undergo a similar shamanic journey to the Cosmic Centre, situated in the Milky Way.
In ancient Egypt the Pleiades were called Chu and said to represent the goddess Net or Neith, the “divine mother and lady of heaven”, a sky goddess associated with war and wisdom, often shown with a line of stars across her back. Her title “Opener of the Sun’s paths in all her stations” may refer to the appearance of the Pleiades at the rising and setting of the sun at different times of year. She is often referred to in Egyptian texts as the “eldest,” and even as the “first” deity, self created and she may have had some function as the creator of stars and the giver of life and rebirth.
The Pleiades may also represent the Seven Hathors, the goddesses who appear at birth and death, and in this form, be connected with doves, as they were in Greek legend. In many mythologies, the dove or some other bird represents the soul after death, and it seems that the Pleiades were intimately connected with the mysteries of death- at Samhain, and rebirth – at Beltane. It may be that they were thought to guard the gates of the afterlife, opening them at Samhain so that contact with the dead could be made, or even conveying the dead souls into the afterlife during that period. In Northern European Countries there was an All Souls Day tradition of offering prayers for the dead in the direction of the Pleiades, though this was actively suppressed by the church.

This is Ursula! So, the return of The Faeries! This is big news on your world! And it is happening in a 2-fold dynamic. It is an event that is happening both within your bodies, your identities, and your energetic structures, and it is an event that is happening outside of you as well, in a reflective nature on your world.
To talk about the return of The Faeries we’ve got to go over, just briefly, that moment on your world when the faerie energy left. And again, when we use the term THE Faeries, it is an umbrella term used to describe those Beings you call faerie and also the elves, the gnomes, the pixies, the brownies, the leprechauns, the dragons, the unicorns, the sylphs, the undines, the mer-beings, on and on and on, the elementals, the devas, even some extraterrestrial beings — beings you identify as extraterrestrial — fall into this umbrella category of The Faeries.
We are a Collective of Beings who walked side by side with the humanoids — with you all — on planet Earth for eons. We coexisted! It’s why we are so embedded in all of your faerie tales, and mythology, and magic. That is NOT imagination! That is NOT some made-up story.
The information about us is rampant on your world because we are real and we were physically real in 3rd dimensional, physical density with you all for a very long time. And then, there came a moment after a series of events on your world after the original enslavement occurred after other disasters occurred — the fall of Lemuria, the fall of Atlantis — after Christianity and other forms of enslaving ideologies ran rampant on your planet and the more mystical and magical ideologies and Beings were persecuted, we found it was no longer safe for us to remain in 3rd-dimensional form and we raised our vibration and ascended largely into the 4th dimension and created a faerie realm within the 4th dimension of planet Earth. So we — this faerie collective that we are referring to right now — we largely exist as 4th-dimensional Beings who can access 5th-dimensional technologies as well, just as you are beginning to now, because this is what the 4th-dimension allows.
The 4th-dimension is this open dimension where you can have both 3rd and 5th-dimensional experiences. You all gave yourselves the 4th-dimension as a vehicle for integration and re-ascension because going from a 3rd-dimensional vibration to a 5th-dimensional vibration is such a radical shift, you needed an entire dimension to facilitate this journey.
So we took up residence in the 4th, meaning we left, but we never really left. Now, there are some of us who ascended higher, who moved into dimensions 5 and 6 and beyond. Calliandra, for instance, exists in the 5th dimension. She’s a 5th-dimensional faerie. I, Ursula(im not Ursula I am guy sharing this important info with the world), tend to exist more in this 4th-dimensional state along with all of the other faeries, and all of the other Beings who are housed in that faerie umbrella, and we stay in the 4th dimension — in the 4th dimension interpretation of Earth — because we love this planet so much. So, as you all are collectively ascending into this higher octave of the 4th dimension you are entering our realm.
The return of The Faeries is not really about us coming back to Earth. The return of The Faeries is truly your ascension into the faerie realm in the 4th dimension, and you all are going to have more and more interactions with The Fae.

“The Awakening of 2025”​

I believe that this year is going to be one of awakening. I believe that the Universe already has plans in place for us, that everything that’s happening in our lives right now is the beginning of what’s to come. It’s like a playbook for a football game hoping to get a touchdown. I believe that what’s happening in life right now is preparing us for what’s to come.
And I mean that in a good way.
I choose to believe that my PTSD is here for a reason. I believe it’s to show me that I still have more healing that needs to be done. I have decisions and choices to make that I may not have been able to before. Whatever the reason, there’s a lesson in it.
We’re only a few days into 2025 and I can feel that change is coming. My intuition has been on an all-time high for quite some time and now is no exception. I think that this year is the one in which we have to look deeply into ourselves and see why we’re feeling the way that we are. I know that many of us are feeling “out of sorts” and I’m one of them. I’m trying to figure out why I am.
I think that I’m still trying to find my place here in Florida. I felt valued back in Jersey but not so here. I had a great job, I wrote every day and I was blessed to see the ocean every single morning on the way to work. My book launches were filled with awesome people and I had a group where I was helping others to write and get published. It’s different here and that’s one of the reasons I feel “out of sorts.”
So this year I’m doing what it takes to find my place and my value here in Florida. Writing is like breathing to me and I need to find that motivation again. I’m sharing my most intimate feelings and thoughts with you because I know that I’m not the only one in the world that feels like I do and that together we can support one another through such times.
The house is so quiet tonight and my thoughts are loud so I decided to write them. Thank you for “listening” to them.
