assyrians have their own Church or is it orthodox ?
Originally Assyrians belonged to two distinct Churches split almost evenly. Assyrian Apostolic Church of the East based in Mesopotamia and Assyrian Orthodox Church based in Levant.
Later ( About 150 years ago) a big chunk of the Assyrian Apostolic church were enticed and some were coerced to change to Catholicism (Without getting into details) which were later called the Chaldean Church that recognizes the Pope to be their supreme spiritual leader.
Then in the early 19th century another part of the followers of the independent Assyrian Apostolic Church were converted to Protestantism by English and American missionaries especially in Urmia (Iranian Azerbaijan).

No, my family belongs to the original Assyrian Apostolic Church of the East which most of Hakkari Turkey Assyrians belong to. The one who were not converted to Catholicism, Orthodoxy or Protestantism.

What about you?
I would assume you are Moslem since your family is originally from Morocco, but I might be wrong.
