the reason why on many calcs we get modelled as Kurdish Jew or Iranian Jew or Assyrian or Lebanese + North Caucasus :

it seems that we Kurds are a mix of a native mediterranean population that was inhabiting the lands where we Kurds live (like similar to Kurdish Jews) who mixed with a people who came from Turkmenistan / Uzbekistan area and gave us our muh Iranic language

these people were like a mix of Lezgins and Tajik Yaghnobis . so they were basically northern west asian with significant EHG admix . thats why we Kurds have more EHG than most people nearby

i mixed Lezgin and Yaghnobi together as that population and use Kurdish Jew as the native pop

reminder :

for the shithead lurker trolls who view this thread and think "hehehe look at the south asian scores in the k15 calcs" .....the south asian component in many calculators such as Eurogenes K13 , Eurogenes K15 , Puntdnal calcs etc. have a decent chunk of that hidden non south asian Iran N / CHG related ancestry in them hence they are not showing the "true" south asian . the true south asian is the native south asian hunter gatherer . calculators like Dodecad K12b for example take out the non south asian part (Iran N related) and the south asian component there is mostly actual south asian

so to see the actual south asian score of a person when it comes to Gedmatch you have to look into Eurogenes K12b , Dodecad K12b , Harappaworld . because the non south asian part is taken out mostly from the south asian components there . but even in these calcs the south asian components have a little bit west eurasian in it and are not 100% AASI . but they are close

and just for your information ....many north Caucasus people such as Chechens will score around 5% south asian too in Eurogenes K15 and other calcs . and some Georgians also score 3-4 % . other northern west asians also score several percent . so there you go

Kurdish man . other than his normal surname (from Turkey) he has a north european surname too . wtf ? lmao . but he can not be anything else than mostly if not fully Kurdish because his results are EXTREMELY Kurdish and there is nothing that could signal a non Kurdish mix . i am guessing that he is married to a north european and just took the surname . he can not be anything else than Kurdish either way . he has a Kurdish forename btw.. most Kurds from Turkey have forenames that also Turks use but his forename is Kurdish :

i am not sure if this man is really the Kit owner . but the name is the same + this man listed Kurdish in his linkedin profile among spoken languages . and i couldnt find many more people with his name . so it is most likely him . the kit is obviously Kurdish with these results especially with the 22% WCA on Eurogenes K12b . and this man has Kurdish listed as spoken languages and looks Kurdish . so in the small chance that this man is not the kit owner it is not the end of the world since they are both Kurds lol

i asked it because yesterday on another site there was a thread if Iranians look more like Greeks or North Indians and more people voted for North Indians (shocker)

while given the diversity of Iran and its huge landmass you could argue that because some Persians look south asianesque and because also a good amount of south and especially east and southeast iranians (especially Balochs) can look North Indian and also score a significant amount of south asian in genetic test it is understandable to vote for North India vs Greece ....

we are a more Iran N (in expense of CHG ) and more EHG version of Pontic Greeks basically

all people in our region are similar to each other it is just that some have more of specific components than others but all score most of the components in significant amounts . it is basically as if you have 2 pizzas with both having mushrooms and onions on them but one of them has more mushrooms and more tomato sauce and a little less onions than the other etc. lol

as with many others ....the kit number of this young lady came up when i did a one to many search with a kurdish kit on gedmatch . she has "Kurdish" listed as languages she speaks in her profile . and she has "invest Kurdistan" company in her interest list

and her results are pretty Kurdish . however she has more east eurasian than average and her west-central asian score in Eurogenes K12b is on the lower end of what is usual for Kurds

therefore i would not rule out a little admix with Turkish . or maybe something north caucasus like circassian for example .
