Yes, my answer was for the Indian guy I commented on above on this page. As for the Indian guy on the very first page of this thread, he doesn’t really pass as anything other than Indian or South Asian. He’s the typical Indian look I’ve been seeing here in Italy, including throughout Rome...
Apart from Kurdish, I could see you passing as Turkish, Cypriot, a Greek islander, Romanian, Bulgarian, Albanian, Dagestani, Chechen, Georgian, Neapolitan, a Spanish Ceutan, or a Canarian islander.
As for the Indian guy, outside of India, I could see him passing in Pakistan, Bangladesh...
I agree. Many Northern and Western Iranians, as well as Northern Levantines, can have skin tones within the range commonly seen among Southern Europeans. They also share some overlapping facial features and are Caucasoids. So, from a facial morphology and complexion standpoint, I have to agree. 👍
I think respectfully South Italians look what their DNA says. People from Rome and Florence look more like French people than with South Italians. Just some observation i wanted to mention. Don’t get me wrong , South Italians overall still look Italian but with their own look also different...
My Ranking from more to least blend in Italy society/population.
Without counting the Africans/blacks
I think South Asians are the group that stands out the most hands down?
What yall think. I could say the same for Spain
But for Spain il place Latinos higher and say some could pass as Spanish...
My subjective tier list
S tier — None
I wouldn't put any group in S tier because I didn't encounter a population that consistently looked indistinguishable from the local Italians across all three regions.
A tier — Turks, Kurds, and Lebanese
These would rank relatively high for me...
While traveling around Italy, I've been paying more attention to how people from different ethnic backgrounds look, and I've noticed some interesting overlaps and differences. These are just my personal observations from the people I've encountered, not scientific conclusions or rules about...
Most people have guessed I’m Latino from somewhere 😀, but China was definitely the most extreme guess I’ve gotten so far 😅😂 Nothing wrong with that, though! The biggest surprise would be if someone guessed I was from Africa (a sub-Saharan African country), but so far, that’s the only guess I...
I've been noticing something interesting during my trip to Italy. Different people have made completely different assumptions about where I'm from based on my appearance.
For example, one Italian guy in Rome asked me if I spoke Portuguese. I assume he thought I was Brazilian. 😂 In Naples...
He looks like a Brazilian Pardo or like a South Asian ancestry person. If I seen him walking in Italy, I would think he is North African or South Asian or at most possibly “Latino”…Nothing more or less
Spotted the famous limonata man on my last day in Naples! 🍋🇮🇹 Tomorrow, I’m heading back to Rome after canceling my flights to Sicily. Thought he’d be an interesting subject for a phenotype discussion. What do you guys think? 🤔
