Hazel eyes

Hazel eyes are due to a combination of Rayleigh scattering and a moderate amount of melanin in the iris' anterior border layer. Hazel eyes often appear to shift in color from a brown to a green. Although hazel mostly consists of brown and green, the dominant color in the eye can either be brown/gold or green. This is how many people mistake hazel eyes to be amber and vice versa. This can sometimes produce a multicolored iris, i.e., an eye that is light brown/amber near the pupil and charcoal or dark green on the outer part of the iris (or vice versa) when observed in sunlight.

Definitions of the eye color hazel vary: it is sometimes considered to be synonymous with light brown or gold, as in the color of a hazelnut shell.

Around 18% of the US population and 5% of the world population have hazel eyes.

Hazel eyes is common in Caucasoid populations.

Hazel eyes are a mixed colored, with brown being one of the colors, the others can be blue and green. It really doesn't matter, to most people those eyes, from a respectable distance, will look brown.

I think this thread on hazel eyes has been posted as it is a common range of eye color in every non European human group other than brown. If I had a preference it would be green colored eyes because it is rare in Europeans plus I have met a few very attractive femmes with that eye color. Maybe we should post our eye color. Might be boring though, all those brown irises.

I have similar eyes indeed, but more Yellow(Amber)+ Green, one is more amber other more green(like almost green).
Some people said that I have green eyes, others yellow or brownish-green/brown specially on different positions. Something interesting happened when I was teen, one friend and other saw my eyes on different places at the same time and they said different eye colors, that was the moment I discovered that I have two different eye colors and even it could change with the humor, light or weather.

I just realized my dad and my grandma have this relatively uncommon mutation for hazel/green eyes which might explain why my dad has a strange green/hazel mixed eye color. I think It's called rs1800407. Although my grandma has dark brown eyes. Just find it interesting lol.
