Why is Mallorca Europe’s golf destination?

Mallorca has become a premier destination for golf enthusiasts in recent years. Its exceptional natural surroundings and pleasant climate, with minimal atmospheric variations throughout the year, have positioned the island as a sure bet for golf aficionados.
In addition to the island’s natural advantages, there is another differentiating factor: the range of golf courses and facilities. Mallorca is one of the European regions with the highest concentration of golf courses per square meter. These special characteristics have led to a significant increase in tourists and visitors who travel to Mallorca not only as a vacation destination but also as a sports-focused or destination choice.
Thus, the island, internationally renowned for water sports such as sailing, has also gained worldwide recognition for other outdoor activities in a natural setting, such as golf. Consequently, both national and international tourists come to Mallorca to play golf throughout the year, even during the autumn or winter season, thanks to its favorable and pleasant weather conditions. This is in contrast to some visitor’s home countries, where storms, snowfall, or rain often make it difficult, suspend, or even close golf courses and competitions for many months of the year.
Most of the golf courses on the island are of high quality for players. The origins of golf in Mallorca date back to the 1960s when the first courses were constructed, such as Son Vida, which pioneered the sport in Mallorca in 1964. The facility was inaugurated with great solemnity, with the presence of high-profile figures from European social and political life, including Prince Rainier of Monaco and his wife Grace Kelly. This establishment represents the first significant and enduring commitment to golf in Mallorca.
Subsequently, Son Servera Golf was inaugurated in 1967. Many other courses have been designed by some of the industry’s best architects, such as Jack Nicklaus or Robert Trent Jones. This is highly valued internationally by golf enthusiasts. The most recent addition is Golf Son Quint, which already incorporates all the technical and logistical improvements in its facilities.
What unites all the golf courses in Mallorca is their commitment to offering a great experience. Besides offering a pleasant environment, close to the sea and often to the mountains, Mallorcan golf courses have implemented technical improvements that allow them to contribute to the island’s commitment to various key sectors. Each golf course is accompanied by a range of high-quality accommodation and dining options in its immediate vicinity, ensuring that players are delighted during their visit to the island and its surroundings. That’s why after a game, golfers can enjoy the exclusive nightlife in the area or savor the diverse and excellent restaurants in locations such as Puerto Portals and Palma.
Mallorca truly offers a golfing experience like no other, with its diverse range of high-quality courses, breathtaking natural beauty, and favorable climate. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a beginner, Mallorca’s golf scene is sure to captivate you.
Besides, did you know that all the Mallorca Golf Island courses are less than an hour’s drive from each other? So why not plan your next golf getaway to Mallorca and discover why it has become the golfing destination of choice in Europe?https://mallorcagolfisland.com/why-is-mallorca-europes-golf-destination/

Santa Ponsa the Beverly Hills of Mallorca and the origin of Europe. But calling it the Beverly Hills of Mallorca being Santa Ponsa the origin of Europe it is insulting calling it this way.

We built the USA and back then it was the envy of the world, now people cant wait to leave the shithole that has become the USA since it is shitty christian.Europe was pagan as was America and the whole world.

Imagine being so stupid that you cant see that the world being originally pagan rightfully belongs to the pagans.

The Mallorca Country Club has an atmosphere akin to Wimbledon – the most important grass-court tournament in the world – but in a literal sense. A technician working at the facilities of this English tournament inspects, cares for, and monitors the new grass courts at the club to ensure that they are in the best condition possible. Close to the grassy slopes stands the main building, a fine, elegant construction with a restaurant on the ground floor where you can enjoy a snack or dinner in an idyllic setting surrounded by olive and carob trees.

Throughout the year it also hosts concerts, charity events, films, and wine tastings. Nearby is the sea and the beach of Santa Ponsa, a strategic enclave for foreign residents. The first floor offers a modern coworking space and a state-of-the-art, well-equipped gymnasium, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views.

During the summer, tennis camps for children are very popular, with modern and well-maintained facilities available for them. It’s no coincidence that this is the only private club in Europe that has courts on three surfaces: clay, grass, and synthetic. There’s also a physiotherapist service, both for sportsmen and women as well as for members, as it never hurts to take care of your body. Opposite the tennis courts is the swimming pool with its splendid sunbeds, which seems to challenge the members with a call to dolce far niente. Ultimately, the Mallorca Country Club is a cosmopolitan and exclusive networking spot where you can meet people and celebrate sports and life.

Calvià has 6 tennis clubs (Palmanova, Magaluf, Santa Ponsa, Portals Nous and Paguera)

Mallorca is home to some of the most prestigious tennis academies in the world, attracting players from across the world.

“Mallorca will become a number one tennis and padel destination in Europe”

"Having seen the Mallorca Country Club, I’m extremely impressed and see a great flourishing future for the club."

“I have to stress that the grass groundsman is part of the Wimbledon team, so the relationship between the two clubs is very close. We support the tournament ever more each year. It’s an ATP event and we’re nearing the 150th anniversary of the The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, of which Santa Ponsa is a member, so we have a very special year ahead and we want to further develop our relationship with Mallorca. One of the main aims is to bring that connection between Mallorca and Wimbledon to the forefront.

"I can certainly say that my experience has been first class. The secret to a good tennis club is energy, enthusiasm and positivity, and the club in Santa Ponsa is brimming with it all. The coaching staff are excellent and it’s crucial that when members, or even guests, enter the club, they feel at home; that’s how I was made to feel in Mallorca. All that’s very important. So, combine that with the facilities and the country club has all the makings of competing with the best tennis/padel clubs in Europe. No doubt about it.

“It’s got perfect courts, a wonderful hotel across the road, it’s 15/20 minutes from the airport, it has a top golf club next door, while there are all the others around the island along with the first class hotels. Most tennis players love a round a golf in their downtime and obviously want to stay in comfort but like to have things relatively close together.

Mediterranean vibe
“So the club’s location, surrounded by the mountains and just a few minutes from the sea, is a winner. In addition, the club has that Mediterranean vibe, which is another benefit. It’s not a massive tennis resort stuck in the middle of nowhere, it’s just comfortable, and all these reasons are why, since the tournament began, some of the best tennis players in the world have decided to play Mallorca ahead of Wimbledon. I can’t see any reason for that to change, In fact I can only see the club’s cachet growing and I certainly hope so,” Dan enthused.

“Tennis clubs, all sports clubs, are flourishing. For many active people who were locked away, unable to exercise and socialise, it’s been a breath of fresh air to get to back into their normal rhythms. More people have decided it’s time to get fit and healthy and enjoy the fun of being a club member and that’s helped us all in the sector as a whole,” he added.

Mallorca an unrestricted tennis paradise. Now there are even efforts to make the island an attractive place for motorsport and in autumn Mallorca’s first “550 Challenge” was held.

Mallorca is no longer just a paradise for sun worshippers – the island has also become a real hotspot for horse lovers. Anyone who wants to combine the Mediterranean lifestyle with a passion for horses will find the perfect combination of nature, luxury and equestrian sports here. An equestrian property in Mallorca offers everything: high-quality facilities, extensive pastures and first-class riding facilities – in one of the most beautiful regions of Europe.

Horse riding clubs in Mallorca
The island’s approximately 15 horse riding clubs offer a wonderful and very sociable alternative. This is especially true for those who do not keep their own horse or are unable to care for it on a regular basis. For a monthly fee, you can rent a stall at one of the riding clubs and, if required, your horse will be completely cared for, i.e. fed, mucked out and exercised.

Professional horse shows

The islanders are also great horse lovers: trotting is the national sport, with two trotting tracks in Palma and Manacor, and tournaments in show jumping, dressage, western riding, vaulting and carriage driving are regularly held in the island’s numerous riding clubs.

The Mallorca Riding Club as an international meeting place

The club is very international: Germans, English, Austrians, Swedes, French, Dutch and Hungarians have their horses stabled here, and English is spoken alongside Spanish. The club has a lively social life, with activities such as training courses taking place around the tournaments, and the occasional Olympic rider visiting. The summer camps for children aged six and above are also popular.

Living and riding in a Mediterranean idyll
Anyone wishing to buy an equestrian property in Mallorca benefits from unique opportunities:
Ride through the rolling hills in the morning, relax by the pool in the afternoon and enjoy the sunset over the olive groves in the evening. Mallorca offers a quality of life that is hard to beat – and makes the dream of riding under the Mediterranean sun a reality.

An equestrian property in Mallorca – more than just a home

Whether as a private paradise, breeding facility or professional riding centre – an equestrian property in Mallorca combines luxury, nature and sporting passion in a unique way. Horse lovers will find not just a property here, but a way of life.

Generations of families - both local and tourist - have frequented this iconic Palma Nova restaurant, known not only for its incredible views of both the mountains and the sea but also its diverse and exciting menu offering everything from paellas and tapas to fish and meat. Over recent years, second-generation owner Carlos Muñoz-Delgado Forteza has transformed the entire place - which includes several interior rooms and a terrace - from its low-key chiringuito roots into a stylish, modernly bohemian restaurant.

A seaside terrace with mountain views

The Blue Bar Palma Nova

As you arrive, you step into the large open-air terrace which boasts a chic design with classic Mallorcan elements, such as wicker chairs and cushioned seating with azure pillows. Birds of Paradise flowers and vibrant, green flora frame the picturesque sea just beyond. The energetic music and friendly staff add to the idyllic, Mediterranean vibes of the restaurant, offering a welcoming environment for seaside dining - the best local and international wines included.

Indulging in the flavours of Mediterranean cuisine has never felt so good as with the sea breeze dancing through your hair. Even better, with a standout cocktail in hand. The porn star martini served with a shot of prosecco and the whiskey sour are our picks. On Thursday evenings, guests can enjoy their dinner or cocktails to the sound of live music performed by both local and international musicians.

Our culinary experience

The Blue Bar Palma Nova

Drawn in by the sea breeze and an enticing summer menu, we begin our meal with the Mallorcan red shrimp tartare, served with crisp extra virgin olive oil toasts. We opt to elevate the experience with a generous spoonful of Osietra Irani caviar, which adds both richness and elegance to each bite.

Next up are the Gillardeau No. 2 oysters, also crowned with caviar and expertly paired with a glass of champagne — a classic indulgence that’s hard to beat. The steak tartare arrives next, prepared tableside in a theatrical flourish by our waiter. Seasoned and balanced to perfection, it’s served atop a roasted marrow bone, offering a sumptuous mix of textures and depth of flavour.

The XXL king prawns in tempura are a brilliant summer addition — golden, light and delightfully crisp. For the main event, we’re presented with a showstopping Toma Hawk steak, over a kilo in weight and full of flavour. Choosing your own steak knife adds a playful touch to the experience. Alongside, the Basque-style turbot delivers delicate flesh and a satisfying smoky note. Both mains are accompanied by seasonal sides, but it’s the calçot-style leeks with romesco sauce that truly shine.

The menu rounds out with refreshing summer specials, including fresh salads, sushi, and paellas — ideal for beachside dining. To finish, a signature dessert or expertly mixed cocktail provides the perfect end to a meal designed to impress at every stage.

A beacon of seafront dining, The Blue Bar restaurant has been a landmark of the Son Matías beach for over 40 years.

Es Verger, located near Alaró, is widely regarded as serving the best lamb in Mallorca, famously deemed the best ever tasted by chef Rick Stein. This rustic, "lamb restaurant" specializes in slow-roasted shoulder (paletilla) cooked in a wood-fired oven, offering a high-quality, authentic experience. Everything is better in Mallorca......you cant be us...

The best lamb shoulder in Mallorca ...Rumor has it that Es Verger is THE place to go for the most tender shoulder of lamb ever.
The lamb shoulder or ‘paletilla de cordero’ is the most popular and ultimately the dish that made the place so ‘famous’ after BBC’s Rick Stein declared it the best lamb he had ever tasted. There is also suckling pig, prawns, fish, snails and a handful of other offerings on the traditional Mallorquin menu.

The rustic Es Verger, between Alaró village and the mountain-top castle, is famously known as ‘the lamb restaurant’ for its succulent slow-roasted and beer-basted lamb. The restaurant “Es Verger” must be experienced. It is a rustic mountain farm on which for generations nothing has changed.

Mallorca is more popular than ever among the art and design crowd. Here, four insiders offer advice on where to stay, eat and shop.

By Gisela Williams

Mallorca has been a classic summer destination for Europeans and Brits for decades. But long before the big resorts sprung up along the coastline and villas came with helipads, the island’s hilltop villages attracted artists, musicians and writers in search of year-round sun and solitude. Among the best known of those early visitors were the Polish composer Frédéric Chopin and the French novelist George Sand, who spent the winter of 1838 in the town of Valldemossa, in the mountains above Majorca’s northwest coast. By 1929, when the British writer Robert Graves and the American poet Laura Riding arrived in the nearby village of Deià — at the recommendation of the American writer Gertrude Stein — and later built a home there, that picturesque hamlet of stone houses and olive groves was already a fledgling artists’ colony. In 1956, the Barcelona-born artist Joan Miró and his family moved to the outskirts of Palma. Plenty of artistic talent was homegrown, too, nurtured by generations of weavers, glassblowers and ceramists. One of Spain’s most prominent contemporary artists, Miquel Barceló, grew up on the island painting landscapes with his mother and her friends. Among the island’s many signature local crafts is the roba de llengües, or cloth of tongues, a style of ikat believed to have arrived from Asia centuries ago via the Silk Road. And it’s that deeply rooted artistic tradition combined with an extraordinary natural beauty that’s attracting the latest influx of creative types. In the last few years, a number of artists and designers have left larger cities in Europe and moved to Majorca. Some of these new arrivals are renovating old houses and farms in and around the country towns of Sóller and Deià or choosing to base themselves in Palma’s Old Town, where Gothic spires loom over the port, and there’s a fresh wave of contemporary art galleries and idiosyncratic shops dedicated to supporting local artisans. All over the island, new or newly revived hotels compete for the most impressive views.

Mallorcan lamb is an emblematic product of the island's gastronomy, appreciated for its mild flavor, juiciness and tenderness.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries architecture was shifting dramatically. Fueled by the Industrial Age, the ancient brick and masonry structures of Old World origins were systematically replaced with cold, modern steel. However, more often than not, the entire city itself was renovated, revealing numerous unexpected findings during these excavations. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania we have an event seen as the final removal of the massive “Grant’s Mound”, a historically significant “hill” which played a key role in the founding of Pittsburgh. Grant’s Mound, and the street level surrounding its ancient buildings, was lowered by a total of 33 feet, beginning with the “First Cut” in 1836, and concluding with the “Final Cut” of 1912 and 1913, which is the focus of our photographic evidence today. These images showcase numerous anomalies that only became visible due to the excavations, with the most unexplainable being dozens of structures with foundations running 30 feet (or more) below the original surface of the mound. Even stranger, upon excavations these once-buried levels sometimes contained things like windows, doorways to the outside, ornate brickwork, and even statues - appearing to indicate that these “foundation” layers were not always meant to be underground.

The doomed mafia/christianity told your sacred ancestors either you convert to christianity or we will kill you.Still want to believe that the 10 commandments are of christian origin not of pagan origin?Idiots...

In this historical documentary, we investigate one of early modern Europe’s strangest legal and social claims: the Basque assertion that every native-born Basque was a hidalgo by birth. From the mountain houses of northern Spain to the courtrooms of Castile and the colonial world of the Spanish Empire, this video follows the remarkable story of how Basque identity, noble status, blood purity, language, and local law became fused into one of Europe’s most unusual collective privileges.

Using legal records, Basque fueros, the history of the etxea or ancestral house, and the wider context of limpieza de sangre, this documentary explores how universal nobility was argued, defended, and enforced. Were the Basques really treated as Europe’s oldest noble bloodline? Why did the Spanish crown allow such a claim to stand? And how did this idea survive for centuries before collapsing under the pressures of liberal reform, nationalism, and modern state-building?

This video explores:
• the Basque claim to universal hidalguía
• what nobility meant in early modern Spain
• the fueros and Basque legal autonomy
• the etxea and the power of the ancestral house
• blood purity, limpieza de sangre, and Basque identity
• the myths of Tubal, antiquity, and the unconquered mountains
• Euskara as proof of separateness and continuity
• Basque migrants in Castilian courts and the Spanish Empire
• the decline of the fueros and the legacy of the noble claim

Palm Beach,Florida has our mediterranean architecture because Palm Beach is our stolen legacy. But there is only one Palm-a de Mallorca......

They show the truth/real history in movies and lies/pseudo history in school.

Doomed christians are anti Pagans but they want you to think that the Pagans didnt exist saying Pagans are mythology when it is a well known fact that Rome was originally Pagan meaning mythical/legendary lmao.

The palm tree primarily symbolizes victory, triumph, peace, and eternal life, with roots in ancient Mediterranean traditions, that's why PALM-a de Mallorca wins and it is eternal.

Mallorca has evolved into one of Europe's most desirable real estate markets, attracting international investors, entrepreneurs, and global citizens. Mallorca’s property market is no longer simply about holiday homes. It has evolved into a sophisticated ecosystem attracting international buyers, long-term residents, and a growing network of businesses tied to hospitality, design, architecture, and luxury service.
Buyers are drawn by a rare combination:
a safe European jurisdiction, excellent infrastructure, international schools, year-round connectivity, and a climate that supports outdoor living nearly every month of the year.Mallorca closed 2025 as one of the most dynamic and selective real estate markets in Europe.

The Z’s speak about the rise of heart consciousness, the collapse of old systems, and the growing divide in human awareness as we move through a pivotal moment in history.

If you’ve been feeling like the world is changing… or that something deeper is unfolding beneath the surface — this conversation will resonate.

Sobremunt (Es Verger) is the hardest climb in Mallorca bar none. With a maximum gradient of 19% and an average of 8% over the 7.5 km, you gain 580m, each one of them very well earned.
