Has there been a DNA study on them? Arent they suppose to be of Basque origin?

There supposed to be a DNA sample of them somewhere, I think on Gedmatch or I forgot where. But the Basque is supposed to be the origin. One thing we know is the Basques are the less mix of the Iberians.

But it would be interesting to see a DNA study done on some recover ancient Iberian DNA

It looks like the ancient Iberians were a old Mediterranean population, just like the Romans & Greeks.
