crazy how similar to levantines they look despite being very distinct genetically anyway from my moroccan point of view tunisians have weird types sometimes that look unfamiliarThey look like a cross between lebanese, syrians, kurds and palestinians to me, if i didnt knew they were tunisians
Probably because the climates of coastal north africa and levant are quite similar and the similar phenotypes evolved individually in both groupscrazy how similar to levantines they look despite being very distinct genetically anyway from my moroccan point of view tunisians have weird types sometimes that look unfamiliar
doesn't make sense since the climate is also the same in southern europe and they receive the same amount of UV radiationsProbably because the climates of coastal north africa and levant are quite similar and the similar phenotypes evolved individually in both groups
Southern euros have more northern admixturedoesn't make sense since the climate is also the same in southern europe and they receive the same amount of UV radiations
berbers and levantine are genetically distinct (a berber share more in common with a spaniard or italian than with a levantine and yet they overlap a lot) maybe just a coincidenceSouthern euros have more northern admixture
Since southern euros have more northern input than both levantines and north africans that's why they on average look different from north africans and levantines despite the fact that the climate in these 3 regions are indeed similar.berbers and levantine are genetically distinct (a berber share more in common with a spaniard or italian than with a levantine and yet they overlap a lot) maybe just a coincidence

When did I say that levantines and tunisians overlapped with each other genetically 😀
No. If anything based on their components alone maghrebis should be marginally darker than levantines such as lebanese and syrians for exampleSo according to you people who don't have this northern admixture all look the same ? Similarities between maghrebis and levantines are clearly not due to climate but maybe more with the nature of their components ; the old populations involved didn't look much different from each other
mixing ANF + iran_N/natufian is maybe close to EEF + IBM idk
I don't think natufians and iran_n were that light tbh and maghrebis have "recent" (late neolithic/bronze age) european ancestry which might have brought more snp for light skin. As for ssa it's too low to affect phenotype, i've met cubans who had more ssa than me (+ theirs is very recent) and they looked perfectly europeanNo. If anything based on their components alone maghrebis should be marginally darker than levantines such as lebanese and syrians for example
mulattoes are not indigenous, the same way spanish gypsies aren't indigenous to spainThey look very Caucasoid.
But many tunisians are also mulattoes as well.
