Where? Many younger normal Portuguese aren't racists. A local minority on a stupid racist forum doesn't mean we are all racist. Especially algarvios more than any other regional group aren't (mostly only old people will be but that's normal in eu) bc know we have moorish ancestry etc etc. Like it's part of our identity being a huge hotspot for moorish control in the past. On my mom's side I have a cousin who literally LARPs with Moroccan traditional clothes, tats etc. It's not uncommon to respect a part of us. Of course it's funny bc we know even north Portuguese have the same amount of moorish as us too

Portuguese are also one of my favourite people on this planet, because from my own experience they are very nice people.

Racism is a global phenomenon and it is part of all humans. You can't say that Portuguese are more ‘racist’ than other people. Racist people exit everywhere, in Kurdistan, in Africa, in South America, in Europe, in China, everywhere.

i dont think racial awareness is a bad thing . and there are ethnicities that i am careful when i meet them and they have to prove me that they are not like many of their bad apples if they want to interact with me

ah I thought you were talking about their NA ancestry but yes their SSA is low 1-3% and it's probably recent since portugal used to welcomed many black communities when she started to interact more with central african kingdoms.

Compared to a north european you would say they are mixed-race, at least that's the idea some users want to convey here.

Wow, an Italicroots thread! The whole thing about North African Berber ancestry in Iberia is overexaggerated. The Portuguese are a group who have more Berber ancestry than the Spain groups, it is mostly about 2%, some have 4%, as do those ethnic groups in Spain, but many have none. If you are looking for higher Berber and SSA ancestry, then it is in the Canary Islanders.
There are different methods of working out North African and SSA ancestry in Europeans and Middle Easterners, I choose to use G25 Global. The amount of African (Berber) ancestry in Europeans isn't going to turn Iberians into Tuaregs or you can do what African Americans do on Youtube and use Fulbe to represent Berbers.
Let Italicroots do what they do best, leave it to them to bag Iberians.

The true NA average in Western Iberia (Portugal included) is 7-10% If you regard qpAdm studies, but apparently they use modern moroccans and guanches (who are admixed with EEF/ENF) as source instead of some native ancient NA component, then the percentage of proper NA in Iberians is a bit lower.

And yes, G25 is the best tool to find this "NA proper".
