The lesson of this thread is that there are some SW Asians that can be guessed as Southern Caucasian, Anatolian, Iranian and Northern West Asian in general

I didn't pay attention to that but I saw the documentary on samaritans. These folks are literally the closest thing to ancient israelites.
Yeah, but the southern Levantine ancestry in Jewish groups rather comes from Judeans and not Israelites. Samaritans were located in between Judeans and Israelites

My bad by "israelites" I meant ancient jews/southern levantines

If you think about it, the climate of the region and nearby places and the general genetics of the local/native population doesn't really correspond to the phenotypes of some Samaritans. Younger generations of Samaritans might look even Euro since they now mix with Eastern European women

I already told you this before but don't make the mistake to take their current pigmentation as representative of what samaritans had in the past especially knowing that samaritans went through a massive bottleneck therefore genetic drift led to recessive genes being more widespread among them.

here something consistent to back up what I'm saying :

The effect of genetic drift is to reduce heterozygosity (see heterozygosity) and increase homozygosity in a population over time, and thus reduce genetic diversity. In large populations, sampling error is relatively low and the effect of drift is negligible. However, in small populations, such as those during a bottleneck, the effect of drift is much greater. In small populations, alleles may be lost to drift quite rapidly, especially those present at low frequency. Very small populations might experience increased levels of inbreeding due to scarcity of available mates, which also decreases heterozygosity. For these reasons, genetic bottlenecks nearly always result in decreases in heterozygosity, with the magnitude determined by the severity and duration of the reduced population size

The alleles for light skin were probably brought to Samaritans by the migration of Iran_Chl like source in the bronze age. As you mentioned yourself, samaritans went through a bottleneck that caused these light skin alleles to more frequently pop up in the individuals than it normally would. I believe Samaritans are 1/2 Natufian or Levant_N and 1/2 Iran_Chl.

Before they got so much Iran_Chl admixture and went through a bottleneck, they were probably indistinguishable from peninsular arabs in terms of looks and even genetically too probably
