If that's what the south Tyroleans want, I'm not against it. Same as with the Basques and Catalans, lol.
I support their independence. But the Basques and Catalans are in their own land-nation. Natives to Spain. While the Tyroleans are Germania people that were made into Italian citizens. Just as the so called Barbarians of the north were made Roman citizens, during the Roman times.

A state should not be broken just because a part of the population does not want to belong to it, unless the Italian state agrees to break into a thousand pieces with a referendum (although I don't think so, since that would make Italy a weak and false state). Imo the only legitimate option for a territory to create its own state is a war.

Would you support the independence of Andalusia even if only a minority wants to become independent? It is difficult to say what the South Tyroleans want, surely each one wants something different since they are not a hive mind.

Well if they become independent they would still be connected to Italy as part of the EU, the formation of the EU has blurred the lines what a "country" even means anymore, maybe the only perk is that they'd have their own football and olympic teams? But then what good would that be if they can't play in the serie A/B and have to celebrate scoring a goal in a world cup qualifier against Malta like other minnow nations in UEFA such as Luxembourg. 🤷‍♂️

I have this part North Italian friend, who claims that he has a Moorish Italian surname & that his father was a member of the Moorish-American Society.
