How does someone have a different body hair color to head hair color?

I notice that one of our players in the Philippines' national basketball team has natural brown hair on his beard and mustache but black hair in his head.

How is this possible. Also, please classify him.

His paternal surname is French, Bolick, while his maternal surname is Espina, a Spanish surname. He is a cousin of my schoolmate.
