Im talking about their admixture results. A jew himself explained quiet well why its likely the case:

The conclusion part of the text included in the link you sent is a bit perplexing to me as it doesn't paint the clear picture. To me, it was concluded as Ashkenazi european ancestors being still mostly southern european but majority not necessarily being italian of that total euro ancestry. The proportions of which Ashkenazis have Southern Levantine and Euro ancestry was still left undefined and ambiguous. Maybe you can tell me your interpretation of the conclusion?

If Ashkenazis are indeed 1/2 Southern Levantine or Southern Levantine like and 1/2 European of which it is mostly Southern European then one could expect Ashkenazis to score more SW Asian since as you know southern Levant especially is a heavy source for SW Asian ancestry and component

From what I understood from the text that Imhere linked, their euro ancestry rather comes from Southern euro populations for the most part. However, I am still left with some questions after reading it

The khazar theory has been disproved for Ashkenazi origins
He in some other comments assumed that middleeastern ancestry in jews were around 35-40%, while rest was european. A significant amount of that euro would been south italian/island greek shifted, as most of Italy around the time jews went there, from north to south, but not majority of their euro ancestry, as jews would likely recieved different kind of euro ancestry in middleeast.
He's not 100% what exactly the ancestry of jews is, just that they arent 50% north italian(since most of Italy was rather south italian, albeit somewhat more island-greek shifted), most of their S euro ancestry doesnt come from Italy and theyre around 1/3 middleeastern, not 50%(despite almost all of their haplogroups being of jewish origins).
