yes thats what I am saying since years . we are native to northern west asia . and yes we have nothing to do with central asians let alone south asians . there are trolls who say that we come from india ....that we are foreigners to west asia etc. . can you believe that ? there are really some people who geniuienly believe that too who are not trolls . it is crazy and of course fucking nonsense

but regarding steppe : we have some steppe . in fact our steppe is one of the highest if not the highest in west asia

and persians are diverse . some persians have indian or ssa admix ....they are of course different from us

and to complement the thread I will add the kurdish gallery link here :

What is more interesting is that people in Iran, like the Persians, are very similar to Kurds. And since Kurds are native and have pure Iran_ChL and Armenia_BA ancestry it means that people like Persians are also originally from Kurdistan!

Interesting. Would that mean many European populations came from there was back as well?

all of the components that we Kurds and other ethnic groups around us score are also scored by many europeans . just in different proportions . especially neolithic Anatolian dna

Well, yeah... there's a common ancestry there isn't there? The common ancestry not being very "politically correct" to say, "the Aryans". I remember a Kurdish guy I worked with one time bringing it up, and apparently a lot of Kurds are proud of this heritage, but yeah I had to be like "Shhhhh! It's true but not very socially acceptable to talk about here".

I find this "aryan" thing some kurds talk about cringy . I dont care about the term either . we are a native northern west asian people and yes we have overlap with europeans and shared ancestry etc. . but we are still different because as I said the proportions of the components that we score are different etc

and yes it is controverse . if you point out the overlap between europeans and west asians as a west asian you will be deemed as a wannabe etc. . and if you do it as a european you will have other european members hang on your ballsack and be offended etc

there are really people who think that from Iceland to Greek Islands people are one race and when you go from Crete to Anatolia then you are suddenly in a new world

Yeah that's because Europeans historically wanted to divide themselves from people further East. But it's the same damn land mass.

But if you look at genetics, there is still significant divergence. Like, I am a French-Canadian and the genetic distance between me and someone from Scandinavia is the same as the genetic distance between me and someone from Nigeria, but me and the Scandinavian are the same "race" but me and the Nigerian are not?

I'm not offended by saying we have similar genetics as people from the Middle East... it's true. And my grandfather's Y-DNA was J-P58 which is very Middle Eastern, so, yeah (this is probably a result of more recent ancestry, however).

your distance to a scandinavian is not nearly the same as to a nigerian . what are you talking about ? lmao

you are extremely far to nigerians .
