I personally dont think you look average for even northwest india. Its not your skin tone or something. your skin tone can be found even in southern india. There are some south asian vibes in you definitely, i wont deny it. But you look more like a pashtun or east iranian to me with some indic mixture. This is my opinion atleast, you may not agree.
Regarding that dude, well indian subcontinent is diverse without a doubt. even within castes we have so much diversity. but they still look south asian predominantly if that makes sense.
