The beaches here opened this week but COVID cases are down. Pretty much flattened the curve here.

I just hope our border with the US stays closed

do you think that soon the cases of covid-19 will start peaking at its highest when we enter winter?
many doctors in america have been very concern that it might happen, not to mention the flu season is coming up (its at its highest speak during winter)
I can only imagine how crazy it will get during the winter, the cure wont be found until a couple more years

I hardly go outside, unless its to go to the grocery store to buy stuff that we need at home
a lot of dumb people here are been protesting for America to reopen smh all because Karen and Kyle want a haircut
then we have the ones who think the covid-19 is a big hoax with paid actors LOL fuck, this country is filled with idiots

Here in the Eureka metropolitan area, the beaches are open, but in a different way.

how differently are they doing it?
in Huntington Beach, it was super crowded, a lot of people were super mad
these are the same people who voted for trump and call immigrants criminals for breaking the "law"
yet here they are breaking the law themselves all because they want their "freedom" back
maybe they should think how these immigrants feel wanting freedom in the USA since they dont have it back home
this brought to light the hypocrisy of these Trump supporters

Yeah it will probably come back in the fall, and I could see it increasing again when restrictions are lifted and borders reopen. There will probably be waves until a vaccine is found.

And I bet this virus will stay with us for a long time. We will probably have to get a shot for it every year, or it will be incorporated into the annual flu shot.

And yeah, those protests are dumb. Nobody is taking your freedom away, these measures are temporary. These protests are all astroturfed anyway.

But people protesting because they can’t get a haircut??? Like WTF? I live where the worst mass shooting in Canadian history happened, and I knew several of the victims. Because of the virus and lockdowns, there were no vigils, memorials, or funerals for the victims (other than online, and broadcast on TV, but that didn’t help), so seeing people protest over minor inconveniences like not being able to get their hair or nails done absolutely infuriates me.

In all honesty, do you believe this whole virus was man-made? I feel like the USA planned this virus to attack China and break their economy
Check this video and tell me what you think, this man talked about the virus that the USA had planned for China (he said this 10 years ago)
Not sure how big are you in conspiracy theories

The fuck is up with Americans shooting people who ask them to wear masks? Been reading several stories about that

They call their bullshit "freedom of speech"
many go into stores coughing on people or licking things
Americans are fucked up in the head, they are spoiled brats that misbehave when they do not get what they want

No I don’t believe in any conspiracy theories about COVID-19. As long as humans live in proximity to animals (pets, livestock, etc), new viruses will infect us, there’s really nothing we can do about it. It’s been something we’ve had to deal with ever since we first started domesticating animals.

This is a problem with the US, all this talk about rights and no talk about responsibilities. It’s like they don’t understand that we live in a society, and have a responsibility to those around us. If that means wearing a mask to prevent others from getting sick, so be it. Also, a private business has the right to require masks. I don’t see what the big deal is.

Also, your rights end where my nose begins. That’s why you can’t drive drunk. Sure, you’re free to get drunk and whatever hangover or liver damage you get is your problem, but as soon as you get behind the wheel of a car, your drunkenness becomes my problem and infringes on my rights and the rights of everyone else on the road, so you can’t do that. It’s not rocket science.

Libertarians really do act like children. They just want to wave their big boy guns around but when it comes to behaving like a responsible adult, they can’t handle it.

I’ve found it funny too, that the people who for years were going around calling other people “snowflakes” and “overly sensitive” and “weak” are the very same people who are cracking when we face a real problem like a global pandemic. These people are not tough or strong at all, they’re pussies, despite their posturing over the years.

Damn, couldnt agree with you more especially the bold part
I can only imagine how they would react during a World War breakout, because honestly, these people are not built for tough situations

Have you seen this video? Makes me mad at the double standard, and yet there are some people that dont think white privilege exist

They would be first to crack if war breaks out and there’s food shortages... and they know they are weak, this is why they need a rocket launcher to get a sandwich at Subway.

And yeah, if those anti-lockdown protesters were black or brown, the cops would be on them like COVID in a cruise ship.

Though I’d argue it’s not just white privilege, it’s white right-wing privilege... any protesters of any race who were not right wing would be harmed.

Well, in the stores, everybody is required to wear a mask, or you will be asked to leave, the beaches, people seem kinda scared, especially if your not white, like you will be fine here, but us mestizos are really suffering up here, full of Euro-American mutts up here, especially, because I have the mestizo pigmentation, it's been alright I guess, we are very small metropolitan area, compared the the Greater Los Angeles Area, going to Redding tomorrow night, getting away from the crazy small coast for a while.

My Facebook account was locked out for 3 days because I criticized the anti-lockdown protesters. It’s apparently hate speech.

What a joke.

LOL daaaaamn, have you heard about what they are predicting? that we will get hit harder this upcoming fall/winter
and I think it will get worse, apparently Trump wants to reopen the country on July 4th, out of all the dates, he picked a date that will have millions of Americans out celebrating the independence of this country, and I think that is when the cases will skyrocket extremely high

i will stay my ass home during July 4th (although, I hardly celebrate this country's independence)

Canada’s national state of emergency has been lifted as of today. We don’t have many cases of COVID-19 at the moment.

Damn, you guys must be doing something right but it also probably helps that Canadians are following the rules
I was reading that Uruguay and Paraguay have very few new cases and deaths, so they are also doing something right

sadly in America, thanks to the idiot president that we have, it has gotten worse and worse
he says its because this country has done more testing than any other country in the world smh which is obvious, the people getting tested are those who are showing covid-19 symptoms, its not like the testing are mandatory smh
