CHG is actually quite relevant component for Europeans. But what scientists have said is that the source of CHG for Europeans was likely from the North of Caucasus because Caucasus had already mixed with Anatolia N when the Yamnaya culture was starting. Early Yamnaya folks didn't have any ANF at all. So, CHG likely formed in the South Caucasus and migrated to the North of Caucasus and mixed later with EHG to form Yamnaya. Those that remained to the South mixed with Anatolian Farmers. Or it could be otherwise.there is no need for steppe to overlap with europeans
