They think they’re the whitest. I do notice it varies with Lebanese depending on religion. Maronites are slightly more northern with having the best change for the lightest features. Then Sunnis follow, then Shias.
Maronites are the most southern ones actually.

Do you mean that people think Lebs are the most northern levantine group?
plus I think that perception comes from because Lebanon is like the “Hollywood” of the Middle East and hardcore cherry-picking can happen. Plus alot of Lebanese diaspora in Europe and America are the best integrated and usually intermarry with locals, lightening them even more

There is a large Lebanese diaspora gere in the west, in NL. However, I would argue that a lot of Lebanese don't mix with locals.

I’ve heard that argument before too actually, that alot of them have Yemenite Christian origins
They don't have yemenite origins. Why do people say dumb shit like that. They are basically more enriched with native levantine ancestry, more natufian and less Iran_N/CHG/ Northern West Asian ancestry compared to their muslim counterparts.

In America it’s a little different because most the Lebanese who immigrated here are Christian and they are an older diaspora, coming in the late 1800s to the early 1900s. And alot of them have mixed with the locals in america. People like Ralph Nader and Chris sununu have Lebanese origins

One guy on phenotypes and asklevant posted a map showing genetics for light eyes and the maronites had the highest recessive gene for it with 33 percent. One guy tried to explain it because it’s from endogamy because they don’t mix with their neighbors as much as their Muslim counterparts and the recessive lighter features show up more

Turkey arabs aren't mesopotamian genetically and they aren't similar to kurds and assyrians. Even assyrians aren't that similar to kurds.
Turkey arabs are the northern most Levantines. They are also the most northern shift genetically out of all levantine groups.
i saw turkey arab results before and they are very mesopotamian shifted maybe i remember wrong. do u have any results?

Their muslim counterparts are genetically less exotic than maronites but it's probably because of the bottleneck the maronites went through.

Even the Arabic dialect spoken in turkey is actually consisted a branch of the Mesopotamian dialect, not Levantine.
A lot of people don’t know that because they think Mesopotamian Arab = dark. A lot of Iraqis have recent Bedouin ancestry because a lot of peneinsualr Arabs migrated into Iraq in the Middle Ages. Native Mesopotamians are not really any darker from a lot of levantines. Iraq compared to its neighbors in the levant have by far the highest population of bedouins.

Considering the fact that your average non-arab iraqi is a mandean, assyrian or kurdish then they won't look more exotic than levantines, that's for sure.

That’s because they lack the Bedouin admixture a lot of Iraqi Arabs have. There are a lot of Iraqi Arabs who don’t have that Bedouin admixture, especially from Baghdad and up and some of them are Arabized Kurd, Assyrians, and turkmen. I knew an Iraqi Arab of Turkish origin in my college who wouldn’t look out of place in any of west Asia or even the balkans even

Hell no. I don’t like that guy.
me too lol

one question too dude lol. are u the guy i spoke to on phenotypes a few months ago? he’s kurdish-levantine but you said you are turkish-levantine. they banned me from there and i spoke to a half kurdish half levantine dude before. he disturbed about palestinian moderator and thought he was whitewashing the levantines.

@Levantinesupremacist dude are u palestinian moderator guy in phenotypes? idk remember the nickname now
I hate that guy tbh. He has a mission to try to white wash levantines as hard as he can by posting the most atypical he can find and tries to agenda post other mena people like Kurds by using pictures of Bedouins and passing them off as Kurd and asking a retarded question like “do these Kurds pass in Europe better than Palestinians?”
