There is still a debate as to where exactly columbus landed in 1492, the first island he landed on was called "guanahani" later renamed to "san salvador" which is an island in the bahamas today

This is the most accepted island presently, but there are other islands that are considered, that could be columbus's landfall based on his logs and Juan de la Cosa's map from that time. I'm not gonna name all the islands that are potential candidates but just 3 of them

Turks & Caicos Islands is another potential landfall

This is Juan de la Cosa's Map from the year 1500, he was with columbus at the time, mapping out the region

This is guanahani Island from de la Cosa's map (sketched), this is where they got the idea that present day san salvador bahamas could be the original Guanahani

based on the location of the map its very possible it could be san salvador, the only problem is thatshape of the island is alittle odd to be san salvador but who knows

The lucayans were the original inhabitants of the Bahamas before they got fucked a couple decades later due to the same shit we all know what the spaniards did and most of all diseases. We don't know exactly how the Lucayans looked but we can damn well just say with 99% certainly they were like the tainos and in turn the tainos were likely like that of the present day Wayuu people and kalinagos but who knows.
This is what they had to say about the appearance of the Lucayans from the observers of that time (1492+)

"Columbus thought the Lucayans resembled the Guanche of the Canary Islands, in part because they were intermediate in skin color between Europeans and Africans. He described the Lucayans as handsome, graceful, well-proportioned, gentle, generous and peaceful, and customarily going almost completely naked."
Another description by another man by that time said
" Peter Martyr d'Anghiera said that the Lucayan women were so beautiful that men from "other countries" moved to the islands to be near them. Women past puberty wore a small skirt of cotton, and the men might wear a loincloth made of plaited leaves or cotton."
