Dear community,
As a follow-up to our very sad announcement (https://anthrogenica.com/showthread....933#post941933), we have opened this thread to grant everyone the opportunity to express themselves, and potentially ask the remaining administration any questions to anything we missed in the announcement post.
We ask our users to please ensure that they have read the entirety of the closure announcement thread before submitting any questions to us, given the exhaustive amount of content we had shared with you.
Additionally we will ask everyone to please respect the privacy of the administrators. As indicated, a change in real-life personal circumstances contributed to the resignations of the second core team of this site. All are well, but life events dictated their respective departures.
Lastly, we also ask that everyone posting accepts the finality of the difficult decision we had reached through consensus and days of discussion. We had painstakingly described the processes which led us to this decision in the announcement post. These processes are unfortunately immovable and external legal advice made the choices clear.
We share in every single user's disappointment and sadness. As our announcement reveals, every reasonable possibility in keeping the site alive was explored, but the consistent opinions or warnings we had received from outside legal counsel left us with no other option.
This thread will remain active until the discontinuation of active posting in one week time (01 August 2023).
We (administrators) will aim to respond to as many questions as possible while active posting is still permissible. Please expect a reply within 1-2 working days.
Thank you again for joining us along the years, and we wish everyone reading, be they future thread participant or lurker, the very best with their genealogical and ancestral journeys.
