Hello everyone, I’m a new member that just joined. I would like for you guys to classify me and my mother and father. I’m a Pakistani Pashtun (yusufzai tribe) from my father’s side going back to Afghanistan and my mother is North Indian from Uttar Pradesh. Here’s a picture of my father when he was 33 years old:IMG_2264.jpeg

And here’s a picture of my mother when she was young: 8d28da0d-4f80-46e6-b0c8-2d39a420a2d0.jpeg

So you’re half Pashtun half Urdu speaking

Is your Pashtun side actually Pashtun from kpk or like one of the Urdu speaking Pashtuns settled in UP and has Pashtun ancestry from generations ago then that would make you full Urdu speaking with some distant pashtun, I suspect that cause when Urdu speakers claim pashtun ancestry it’s usually yusufzai.

Your father does look kind of pashtun however. You look regular Urdu speaking.

Both my parents are from Uttar Pradesh India (north central). They’re both Urdu speaking and my dad speaks no Pashto. But his father (my grandfather) had blonde hair and blue eyes which is definitely afghan Pashtun lol, because I’ve never seen a blonde haired blue eyed North Indian. My grandfather’s brothers were ginger. My father says his Pashtun ancestors came from Afghanistan. So I think my dad is full Pashtun since he looks iranid.

I think you're North Indid

Your dad North Indid too maybe

And your mother gracile indid imo
I think natufian got the better analysis here. You missed my iranid component. My father looks full iranid. Not to mention that his father was blonde haired and blue eyed which I think is Iranian-Nordic. Thanks for your input.

So both your parents are the same ethnicity - Urdu-speakers, it’s just that your dad has Pashtun ancestry. Did your grandparents migrate to Pakistan or stayed in India? Cause that would make you a Pakistani Urdu-speaker/muhajir, no need to call your parents Indians as that refers to modern day citizens of India

About 1/3rd of muhajirs have pashtun ancestry, mostly Yusufzai but they don’t identify as pashtun as they don’t speak pashto nor follow the culture and have mostly mixed, so your parents are the same ethnicity.

you are welcome . but this is not depending on personal opinion 🙂 trust me it is a fact that you dont look iranian

hate to be the guy but i have to tell you the truth
I didn’t say I look fully Iranian, I said I had an Iranian component brother. My other component is North Indian, and I’m proud (proud in a good way) of my North Indian component. My other friend who is very good at anthropology and natufian both said I look Iranian and Indian mixed. They both said my father looks Iranian, which is true because his father (my grandfather) was blonde haired and blue eyed and his brothers were gingers. If that is not Iranian then I don’t know what is. But it you have a better analysis than let me know. Thanks.

I don’t think your dad looks iranid, he easily passes in Punjab and maybe eastern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Muhajir pathans are mixed for the most part so it reflects but these pics could be misleading as you said you have light haired and eyed family members so may need better pics.

That’s not Iranian, that’s just Pashtun. Linguistics =\= Genetics. You can say they look Pashtuns, Iranian is a stretch.

bro look :

you seem to be a nice person so dont get this wrong but you dont look iranian AT ALL . iranians look very different from you and your father . trust me . i am basically a "west iranic" person and have also met many iranians in my life and am very familiar with how they look

you look undoubtly south asian . northern south asian to be exact . so does your father

i noticed long ago that there are many northern south asian people in forums who wrongly think they look iranian . while 95% of them dont even pass as atypical

if you looked iranian i would have told you dont worry .

i know it might come off kinda harsh aka "YOU SHALL NOT PASS" lol . but like i said i have ot be honest

and member natufian hunter gatherer is not good with passing people . he said i would pass atypically as north european even though thats impossible. he often says crazy stuff

I see. So is my dad Pashtun looking? What pheno do Pashtuns fall in? I thought they were iranic people. But they might fall with the North Indians. I saw this Pashtun guy from Afghanistan once and he looked Iranian.
