I'm seeing a pattern here: G25/Gedmatch is severely underestimating Yamnaya admixture in Northern West Asia. Hamshen Armenians and Pontians hardly score any on G25 for example but Onyx is showing us the light right now.

You would never capture 14% steppe for Hamshentsi Armenians on G25 or Gedmatch. This is kind of amazing actually.

Kurds are a bit more steppe admixed than what G25 suggests, just as I had assumed.

It's definitely a bit taller than that in my experience. My brothers are even taller than I am.

@Onyx I skimmed through the article you linked and I agree with it's main premise. It's too easy to manipulate results in these PCAs and oracles, and the Ashkenazi examples prove this. Personally, I've always been very skeptical about the "out of levant" theory for these people.

I meant in terms of modeling a population. A fit distance above 3 is inaccurate imo.

For G25 and Gedmatch, anything above a 3 for a population AVERAGE is a bust for me. These Gedmatch models are laughably ridiculous.

That's a very interesting take to say the least, especially considering that differences already become quite noticeable even at distances of 2-3. Personally, 5-6 is already fairly distant for me, never mind 8-10.
