on reddit a punjabi dude lately made a thread and people placed him as iraqi kurd , syrian , palestinian . he doesnt pass as Kurdish in the slightest . but i knew someone will say that at the moment i saw him . he can pass as south levantine maybe and gulf arab of some sort but Kurdish no way .

lately i have been placed in the balkans again by the way . by a person not knowing my ethnicity

so here is what is usually happening : north curries get placed as Kurdish and nearby ethnicities and actual Kurds get placed as Georgian and Balkan often . so there is a weird shift going on in peoples heads . they think that our peoples are supposed to look punjaboid or gulf arab like and when they see how we actually look like they guess us to be from balkans , caucasus , med islands europe etc.
