they are genetically west asian but i don't think there are huge difference between mainlander greek and other greeks

I know they are from genetic testing results. Phenotypically there is an overlap, lots of Anatolian Greeks went to Thessaly, and Greeks have Caucasus hunter gather/Iranian farmer ancestry even the Mycenaen Greeks, and the Minoans had that ancestry. However, you can accustom to the differences between these Greek people as you are to Turks.
By the way in Australia every Turk I have met has told me their grandmother was blond and blue eyed yet the person saying that is dark haired and brown eyed. I don't think it is true.

lol we have blue eyed person in my family but most of us are just brown or hazel eyed

See I was right! Still I don't believe every Turk's grannie had blond hair and blue eyes.
