Which languages are most similar to your mother tongue and which you can understand up to a certain level?

My mother tongue is Turkish

1- Gagauz (I understand 90-95%)
2- Azerbaijani (I understand 80-85%)
3- Crimean Tatar (From Kipchak group but they have very Oghuz influence, I understand much better than Turkmen even sometimes better than Azerbaijani language, I understand 75-80%)

gagauz and azeri more like accent to me

From this video

It is the note from 1/10 . The first line is grammar, the second is lexicon, and the third is phonetics.

She comes to the conclusion that Brazilian portuguese is the most similar to Spanish.
Actually this is quite consistent with what I told you. Look at the phonetic difference between the Portuguese of Brazil and that of Portugal! Even Italian or romanian has simpler phonetics than portuguese

That pontic greek with 5% east eurasian was atypical of course and perhaps even slightly mixed

sure it's atypical but also i've seen mesketian with 5-6% east eurasian. i still say some meskhetians are just local but some of them local + turkic. maybe it's bullshit but i've seen other meskhetians with turanic look.
