Uruguay: Genetic Admixture

We have analyzed the allele and phenotype frequencies in five DNA loci: LDLR, GYPA, HBGG, GC, and D7S8 in a sample from Uruguay. All the loci were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) except the D7S8 locus. Our genetic admixture estimate showed evidence that the main genetic contribution comes from Europe with a small Amerindian and a minor African contribution with the admixture proportions: 84.1%, 10.4%, and 5.6% respectively. Genetic distances between the Uruguayan sample and several other Latin American populations revealed the closest genetic relationship with the Argentinean capital city, probably because its common history and demographic characteristics.

Argento from TA is probably punching the air right now with tears in his eyes, he hates to know that there is a country in Latin America whiter than Argentina lol
anyways, Uruguay has "preserved" its whiteness throughout all these years with very little immigration in the 20 years from Europe (unlike Argentina)

Argentina is harnizo/castizo on average, according to genetic studies.

While Uruguay seems to be european on average.

Does he really think that?

Well, Argentina is still the second most European country in Latam, behind only Uruguay.

Uruguay's basic racial stock is similar to the Pampas/Buenos Aires region of Argentina: mainly a mix of Spanish (colonial and recent) + Italic and Amerindian and SSA in a smaller scale, the diference is that Uruguay has a smaller Amerindian imput (but at the same time a bigger SSA imput) and was less affected by non-white immigration from other Latin American countries, that prefered their neighbour Argentina, which is a stronger economy.
