I really am sick of this covid situation . when the fuck will it end ? what do you think ?

I see it going on at least another year and maybe more at this stage. I don't believe the conspiracy theories about it being a hoax, but I do believe that worldwide governments and global corporations realised how profitable a pandemic is to them. The biggest corporations gained tens of billions of dollars in profit and governments coalesced unprecedented power while the rest of us were locked in our homes for months. They will not hesitate to quarantine us again if it's profitable.

Probably another year or two, but the economic recovery will probably be at least a decade.

Anyway, I had COVID. You don’t want it. I was very sick, and I had what was considered a “mild case”. I didn’t have to go to the hospital or anything but I was miserable at home. The first thing to go was my appetite, which went maybe a week before I had the other symptoms, and my appetite still hasn’t recovered yet, a month later.

So like yeah, wear a mask and stay home as much as possible.

and when it began instead of closing the borders and not letting people from china etc. into the country what did they do ? they still let them in . in the country I live in corona started because they let a chinese woman come in and she spread it here . and if I am not wrong she was even from the hotspot in china where corona started or something

Actually people here are quite conservative, and conservative and liberal leaning people here respectfully disagree all the time, we're just not into that culture war nonsense. That shit is unacceptable behaviour, I don't care what anybody says.

The culture war is the fight over shit like masks... people yelling at Wal-Mart staff for the store requiring masks. Like seriously, I thought they were free market capitalists... well, Wal-Mart is a private business, if they want to require customers to wear masks, they are well within their right to do so. Either shut the fuck up and wear the damn thing, or shop elsewhere. Stop making scenes like a bunch of petulant children.

I don't think China is responsible for the virus, it was an accident of nature. Did they fuck up the response to the virus and engage in a lot of cover-ups? Yeah, sure, and they should be held accountable for that, but they're not responsible for creating the thing.

The 2009 H1N1 pandemic started in Canada. Canadians were not responsible for creating it, it just happened to jump from animal to human on a farm in Canada, an accident of nature. Our government at the time did fuck up the response too, though... I caught it and was denied care because they said I was "too healthy" and that medicine to treat it was reserved for the elderly, small children, immunocompromised, indigenous people in remote areas, and professional hockey players (that last one pissed me off lol). But, every country has a stockpile of H1N1 vaccine because the last H1N1 outbreak in 1917 killed 50 million people. I bet if Canada had enough stockpile of the vaccine (they did not have enough for all 37 million Canadians so they had to ration) and got the whole population vaccinated faster, it wouldn't have been spread around the world by infected, unvaccinated Canadians. I don't know why international media didn't come after us, they should have in retrospect, especially because Canada had successfully prevented H1N1 from spreading outside of its borders back in the 1950s or 60s, by doing just that... this meant that most elderly Canadians were immune and didn't need the vaccine because they were alive back then and the government should have been prioritizing vaccinating the young who had no immunity, so they wouldn't go to Mexico on vacation and spread it there (which is exactly how the global outbreak started).

I don't like wearing a mask but I do. We're not required to wear them on the street, but indoors, yes. I don't care, whatever, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Having had COVID myself, I would say wear a mask, it may seem ridiculous, but it's not. I don't want to get into graphic detail about how sick I was because it's pretty disgusting (lots of vomit, soooooo much vomit, and my appetite still hasn't recovered 2 months later). You don't want this, trust me, and you don't want to give it to staff at the grocery store either.

Well, if someone gets a tickle in their throat and coughs next to you, it could happen. Or someone with COVID squeezes a tomato but decides not to buy it, then later you buy and eat that tomato. COVID is very contagious, it has an R0 similar to that of the common cold, and you know how easy it is to catch one of those.
