wtf moroccan scoring high steppe

what's weird is that if it was from a recent spanish ancestor he would have had a much higher EEF score and it's not the first time I see such strange pattern where the steppe is high but the EEF component is low or average (note that north morocco was never under french authority) so we're either dealing with a very old strain of ancestry going back to the bronze age or something much more recent.

that's the only logical explanation I see but that would mean some north moroccans managed to preserve such type of ancestry since the bronze age
