Pled-Noirs of Algeria

The Pled-Noirs were those of French & other European descent (including many European Jews) who were born in Algeria during the French colonial period, in 1959, they made around 13% of the population in Algeria, the vast majority of them left during or after Independence, especially due to the rise of Arab/Muslim nationalism, as Algerian citizenship became only restricted to Muslims, nearly all of them went to France, today there are around 3.2 million Pled-Noir descendants in France.

I don’t think Algerian citizenship was limited to Muslims, it was limited to Native Algerians, the settler-colonists were kicked out
