I'm 100% Colonial Mexican aka Chicano/Mexican-American (born in Northwestern California), to two Mexican immigrant parents, my paternal grandfather & my mother's maternal grandfather were both Spanish Criollos from Los Altos de Jalisco, & my paternal grandmother, maternal grandfather, & mother's maternal grandmother are/were Mexican Mestizos from Northwestern Michoacan, my known ancestry is Spanish (mainly Andalusian, but also many other parts of Spain) & some Indigenous Mexican (including Purepecha, with very tiny amounts of Mexica/Aztec & Chichimeca), with smaller amounts of Sephardic Jewish & Afro-Mexican, remote Filipino, & very tiny amounts of Italian, French, Belgian Flemish, & Portuguese (all of those tiny amounts come from my paternal grandfather's line).
My Basque decreased very significantly, I have many distant Basque ancestors, as well as many Basque surnames on my father's side of the family, & the Basque is my 3rd largest Spanish region on 23andMe, & my father's 2nd largest Spanish region on 23andMe (but he hasn't tested on the new chip yet), I have high doubts I'm much more than 2% Basque.
About the Sephardic Jewish, I think that's my favorite part of the update, I also scored Sephardic Jewish on 23andMe (on the V5 chip), & my father's side of the family said that we have Jewish ancestry through my great-grandmother (my paternal grandfather's mother), & I'm aware the Sephardic ancestry is very common among people from Los Altos de Jalisco, & it's also quite common in Michoacan, so likely, I'm around 1/32 Sephardic Jewish.
About the Yucatan Indigenous, I think that's just from my Purepecha ancestry, I have no known ancestry from the Yucatan Peninsula, & I've seen many Purepecha people score small amounts of Yucatan on both 23andMe & AncestryDNA, I also score Yucatan on 23andMe.
The North African is likely from Andalusi Morisco and/or Canary Islander ancestry, I also score North African on 23andMe, & the only Spaniards (those from Spain) that score North African are the Canary Islanders, are they are mostly Spanish with some Guanche Berber ancestry, but I'm also aware that many Spanish Moriscos fled to the New World passing as Old Christians after their expulsion in the 1600s.
The Portuguese is likely from my Galician & Extremaduran ancestry, but a very small among of it could be legit Portuguese ancestry, as I have several legit Portuguese ancestors on my paternal grandfather's line & one on my maternal grandfather's line.
I'm still 3% Sub-Saharan African, I'm also 3% SSA on 23andMe, which is obviously from my Afro-Mexican ancestry, from African slaves brought to Mexico by the Spanish, it likely comes from my Mexican Mestizo side, as only a minority of Spanish-descended White Mexicans aka Criollos have SSA, & it's usually no more than 1%, & a lot of the times it's due to a recent Mestizo ancestor.
But yeah, still very similar for the most parts, mostly Spanish & Indigenous Mexican, on both 23andMe & AncestryDNA, & my family said that we are a mix of Spanish & Mexican Amerindians, some people on my father's side of the family have claimed Hungarian and/or Hungarian Jewish ancestry, but I think that's a common myth among many Colonial Mexican families, even Edward James Olmos claimed Hungarian Jewish roots, similar to the Cherokee myth among many White & some Black American families, my father & one my paternal uncles also claimed Arab ancestry, & my father claimed to be part French one time, despite having one very remote French ancestor from Alsace who immigrated to New Spain (Colonial Mexico) in the 1500s, & my mother claimed that we could be part Italian, & I only found a few Italian ancestors on my paternal grandfathers line.
Basically, I'm 64% West Eurasian, 33% Amerindian, & 3% Sub-Saharan African.
