    qpAdm of south asians

With zero Onge+Asian ancestry, I'd imagine the Kalash, for example, would almost uniformly resemble those sandy-blonde steppe-looking West Asians.

which ethnicities do we Kurds look like (collages) other than Kurdish

Kurds have substantial Yamnaya ancestry. G25 doesn't do them justice because it's usually understated.

which ethnicities do I look and which would i pass as ?

    Stereotypically Irish-looking.

Yes, Catacomb is probably the real source for steppe DNA in Armenians, and not Yamnaya directly.

My point is that Hamshentsi have virtually zero steppe DNA on G25. Added a Levant_Natufian source isn't going to alter this statistic anyway. Yet qpAdm shows an entirely different picture

I ran a couple of Hamshen kits on Gedmatch calcs before and they scored very slim to no amounts of steppe kinda like what G25 suggests. Yet on the 2 samples Onyx ran for us, they get 14 and 17% respectively. From basically nothing to about 15-16%. That's a significant difference in my...

They do, but it's understated, and often times they don't even show steppe admix but EHG.

It doesn't. Especially for Hamshens. Do a Neolithic run for all individual Hamshentsi on G25 like Onyx's model and post it here.

This is ridiculous. And by "this" I mean G25/Gedmatch :)

Absolutely, Kurds being around 20% steppe, with some being a bit higher and Hamshen having sizeable portions of this ancestry is something G25 would never capture. Even with more proper CHG samples, I don't think they'd be as relevant as Iran_N anyway.

I don't know if qpAdm has satsu or not but if it's anything like Kotias then it won't make any difference in these runs.

Also, I recall Onyx did a run for a Georgian individual using the same N model and this individual scored 18% Kotias if I recall correctly.

There's only 1 CHG sample so that could play a role in terms of what qpAdm prefers. If we had more CHG samples then the numbers may differ somewhat but even then I sincerely doubt any modern-day population would be modeled as 50-60% CHG. CHG on these amateur calcs tends to absorb...

The Kurds . Kurdish People gallery thread

It's also overestimated proper CHG it seems.

Most likely them and Adygheans/Circassians, yes.

I suspect Syunetsi Armenians, and just Eastern Armenians in general to score higher steppe than the Hamshentsi

His assertions are starting to make a lot of sense thanks to qpAdm.

Yes, an Armenian anthro enthusiast on another forum actually once told me that no modern day population gets modeled as anything more than 30% actual proper CHG.
