My point is that Hamshentsi have virtually zero steppe DNA on G25. Added a Levant_Natufian source isn't going to alter this statistic anyway. Yet qpAdm shows an entirely different picture
I ran a couple of Hamshen kits on Gedmatch calcs before and they scored very slim to no amounts of steppe kinda like what G25 suggests. Yet on the 2 samples Onyx ran for us, they get 14 and 17% respectively. From basically nothing to about 15-16%. That's a significant difference in my...
Absolutely, Kurds being around 20% steppe, with some being a bit higher and Hamshen having sizeable portions of this ancestry is something G25 would never capture.
Even with more proper CHG samples, I don't think they'd be as relevant as Iran_N anyway.
There's only 1 CHG sample so that could play a role in terms of what qpAdm prefers. If we had more CHG samples then the numbers may differ somewhat but even then I sincerely doubt any modern-day population would be modeled as 50-60% CHG.
CHG on these amateur calcs tends to absorb...
Yes, an Armenian anthro enthusiast on another forum actually once told me that no modern day population gets modeled as anything more than 30% actual proper CHG.
