Hi,

I been lurking on various anthro-forums and i probably might stay here for a while.

Anyways, i tried to make some few collages to get an idea of what few peoples look like. Recently i made two with iranians of two regions: one with Elam(SW Iran, supposedly kurdish region) and one with Zabol(right west of SW AFG border) and to my suprise, the collages of both people kind of look like each other more than i anticipated.

I just wanted to see your opinions though.

Im AFG pashtun.

And i didnt knew that. Wiki said that region was kurdish. However since i made an easternmost collage(zabol), i wanted to do one with westernmost as well.

Interesting you dont think they look kurdish though

ilam has kurds . but also many non kurds

some of the men in the ilam collage do look kurdish but many do not

and how is that "interesting" ? it seems you have not seen the kurdish collage threads (but i think you did since you post collages yourself)

this is what kurds look like . all people in the pics are kurds

If im gonna be honest, i would had confused half of the ilamites for the kurds there(but the other half also look quiet different).

Anyways, if the kurds in Ilam are native to the region and always been(not sure), i would assume most of the persians there are just persianised kurds(though some persians are probs migrants from east)

no . half is too much . no way do half of them look kurdish . more like 1/4 or 1/3 at best

i am often surprised how different many iranian groups look from us to be honest

most of these people on your collages look like a syrian - afghan mix to me

Ok, i see

Them being syrian/afghan mix looking doesnt sound too odd anyways, since they live inbetween both(though the ilamites lives FAR FAR closer to Syrians than to even the zabolis)

What you think about the zabolis?

What you think about the zabolis?

the zabolis look very very foreign to me and almost none of them looks like us

some of them are also very dark and exotic looking

In the past Kuridsh speaking Luri people from Lorestan and even Feyli Kurds from South-Eastern Kurdistan were not considered as full blooded Kurds and were discriminated by the Sorani Kurds and other Kurds. They were not seen as the real Kurds and not equal to the Kurds, because many of them had different origin.

According to the Kurds from the north (Sorani and Kurmanji), Kurdish speaking people from Lorestan were not the real Kurds because they were too much mixed with the Persians and some other ethnicities in the region.

interesting

Interesting.

Whats common surnames amongst those sorani kurds? And where do they reside in Iraq? I possibly MIGHT make a collage with them(if i have time and want to do so)
